Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin stumped for Gov. Rick Perry at a rally Sunday in suburban Houston, adding some national Republican star power to Perry's re-election campaign.
I doubt there is another public figure in our country who gives liberals a bigger case of the hives than our special guest today, Perry said. At the very mention of her name, the liberals, the progressives, the media elites, they literally foam at the mouth.
Palin appeared with Perry a day after the Republicans' most recent vice-presidential nominee addressed the first national convention of the anti-establishment tea party coalition in Nashville, Tenn.
Perry is firmly establishment in Texas but has campaigned as anti-Washington in his March 2 GOP primary race against U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. He is seeking a third four-year term that would add to his tenure as the longest-serving governor in Texas history.

She is slowly becoming part of the beltway. I see her taking every opportunity to put herself in front of a camera, not mentioning the issues that affect our lives like illegal immigration, the deficit, the terrorists etc... We should be trusting ourselves and not putting this genuine movement on the hands of anyone else .
You got that right.
Some millionaire muzzie in Houston named Farouk is running as a Democrat.
He makes great hair products and trains great stylists.
I'm not sure, but she's not campaigning for office at the moment, either. At least, not on her own behalf.
een if she is not campaigning she has to take a stand on issues. To be honest, I was a big supporter of Palin in 2008 and early 2009,then I saw that she is becoming very vague on issues that affects us all and that is the reason I no longer support her blindly..<p.(Im not accusing you ospecifically, allegra, Im just throwing that out:D )
Nobody should "admire sheepishly" *cough!* any politician, but surely there are one or two you respect to some degree?
Let me guess....those would be Libertarians?
An August 14, 2006 report produced by the Congressional Research Service listed 31 cities and counties that have “don’t ask, don’t tell” sanctuary policies in place. They are:
Anchorage, Alaska
Fairbanks, Alaska
...
* Alaska and Oregon both have state-wide policies that forbid state agencies from using resources to enforce federal immigration law.
http://edition.cnn.com/2007/US/07/17/dobbs.7.17/index.html
and
“([Alaska] House Joint Resolution 22 - May 2003) Establishes that state agencies and instrumentalities may not use state resources or institutions for the enforcement of federal immigration laws, which are the responsibility of the federal government.”
The immigration issue does apply to Alaska and we need to know if Palin actually did anything about it.
Please define the beltway.
I'm afraid you are woefully uninformed. Sarah Palin commands media attention but she is also employed by Fox News so you will be seeing even more of her on the FNC.
Sarah is a public speaker in great demand, but she is not an elected office holder, so she doesn't vote on any issues, but her views can and do influence others and her views are entirely conservative.
This genuine movement you speak of is the grassroots efforts of people everywhere and there is no leader, but Sarah Palin was the invited keynote speaker at the Tea Party Nation's first convention. It's as simple as that.
Sarah has her own PAC and she endorses and supports candidates of her choice, including John McCain, John Kasich and Rand Paul so far this year.
I’m not going to replay the immigration game tonight on this thread, It’s grown old and tiresome.
Sarah Palin is against illegal immigration and has so stated several times over.

speaks for itself:
To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.
At this point, she really doesn't; she's a private citizen. If she should toss her hat into the ring, I'm sure many of us will want to know how she stands on a lot of issues. What I have seen so far is a conservative with a common sense approach.
There are a few I'm watching with some interest at this stage such as Jim DeMint, Mike Pence, Michelle Bachman and Duncan Hunter. I have no idea whether any of them will run, either, but I hope they'll consider it.
I don't believe in blindly supporting or taking a worshipful stance on any politician and I won't expect whomever I support to match my own ideology 100%. That's just unrealistic.
But at this point, the field is open and I'm just observing.
I agree with all you said!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve also tried to point out that Medina, a nurse, has no executive or business experience to bring to the table and that it’s the Ron Paul crowd that is supporting her in this campaign.
“We don’t know much about Medina.” Texas is too big a state and too important to screw around with an unknown.
She needs to play small ball first - mayor, city council or position of leadership in one of the larger cities irst - let’s see her voting records and how she handles political life. Then if she proves to be what she says she is, she can run for governor in four years. In the meantime, for heaven’s sakes, vote for Perry. There are also lots of good conservative Texas House members who are fighting for their lives this year - they need our support.
BINGO!
Perry gets my vote.
I believe that what you perceive as "vague", is simply Sarah's broad statements about her basic philosophy of life and government. If you're a conservative and a patriot, I think you probably agree with her on those things.
Sarah has yet to make any detailed statements about her precise positions on many issues. In her position, she doesn't need to. She's not an elected representative, and when she was John McCain's running mate, it was her job to support his positions on the issues.
Having said that, Sarah's made some of her positions on issues known over the last year, via her FaceBook page, and several articles she's written.
Surely you've read these. If you have, then she's already answered some of your questions regarding her positions on important national (and international) issues.
Maybe you're waiting for Sarah to speak directly to you. Maybe you need her to address your chief concerns, and to answer your questions about issues that concern you in a detailed and studious manner.
Not to worry. In time, she'll answer all of those questions for you. For now, and until she runs for office again, she simply needs to state her broad, fundamental philosophy, and support conservative candidates for office (who DO have to state their detailed positions on the issues).
Most conservatives can extrapolate from Sarah's fundamental stance on things, where she'll fall on individual issues.
she flip flops on the issues like Mccain.
Sorry, but I haven't seen that from Sarah at all. I've been watching her since she stepped onto the national stage, and I've seen nothing but consistency of message from her.
I have no idea what makes you think I am a follower of obama. I have NEVER supported him, just becasue I disagree with her that automatically makes me a liberal?
That's the problem, right there. You disagree with someone who states conservative principles better than anyone we've seen in a generation, and who has a track record of conservative accomplishment in office. Not knowing you, I can only logically surmise that you must agree with her exact opposite, which is Obama.
So, tell me. Do you agree with anything Sarah Palin has said or done?
If you take a aspirin you might save your little weewee brain from exploding but I bet not~~~PALIN/BROWN 2012 you betcha!!!
I said, not tonight. I knew you’d post the univision link.
No sale.
Sarah Palin is not John McCain and she is not for amnesty. She is against illegal immigration. She is not his running mate. She does not hold elected office.
What are you afraid of and what is your agenda?
Palin: we need to close the borders.
They are called illegal aliens for a reason and if they are not going to follow the rules they should not be in our country. Its pretty simple I ratched that one down to the simple answer because its an easier answer than some politicians want it to make it be.
you close the borders. You get more agressive about cracking down on the illegal aliens and we take it serious what our border patrol officers are trying to do
December 2009
Lars Larson radio talk show
LARS: The amnesty proposal that was defeated in Congress in your view, was that amnesty for illegals and would you back amnesty for a path to citizenship, as the current president calls it?
SARAH PALIN: No, Im not for amnesty. Lets ratchet this down quite simply to remember what were referring to. Illegal aliens are called illegal for a reason.
We need to secure our borders and I am not for amnesty. And there are humane ways to deal with the 11-13 million illegal aliens who are in our country right now, but if theyre not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.
I’m afraid of a Permanent Democrat Majority due to a road to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. Once that happens, none of the tea parties and facebook groups will make a difference.
