Obama invites GOP to summit on health care

President Obama moved to jump-start the stalled health-care debate Sunday, inviting Republicans in Congress to participate in a bipartisan, half-day televised summit on the subject this month.

The president made the offer in an interview with CBS News anchor Katie Couric hours before the network televised the Super Bowl. Obama challenged Republicans, who have been largely unified in opposing his proposals, to bring their best ideas for how to cover more Americans and fix the health-insurance system to the public discussion.

"I want to consult closely with our Republican colleagues," Obama said. "What I want to do is to ask them to put their ideas on the table. . . . I want to come back and have a large meeting, Republicans and Democrats to go through, systematically, all the best ideas that are out there and move it forward."...

Obama wants only one thing. he cares not about health care. He wants structure. He wants Federal “exchanges”. This would be the only place you can get insurance. He would set the terms for coverage. He can then run the Private insurance free market out in a couple years and transform to socialized rationing.

Sit down and shut up, Obama. The GOP will meet with you as soon as the 112th Congress is seated.

The GOP better have their A-Team ready, as Obama is just a treacherous sob who has no intent on compromsing. I just likes to see his mug on tv.

You can’t get away from Obama’s face.

The jackass kept Obamacare hidden from the cameras; he let Reid and Polosi work on it in secret. Now he's trying to goad Republicans into appearing at a healthcare summi, televised for the whole world to see. This is all designed to make political points for Obama, not to seek bipartisan solutions.

His tactics are shamelessly transparent.

DON’T DO IT!! This is simply a ploy to paint the GOP as negative with no plan of their own. Dems are bent on pushing this monster on us. Let them justify their stance.

With congressional low approval rating and Obama’s low rating they have everything to gain and little to lose. This is a lose, lose proposition for the GOP. DON’T DO IT!!! For once would the GOP play real hardball? This is war.

Having that interview before the Super Bowl was disgusting and I put the lowlife on mute as I could care less what he has to say.

Sent my two cents to CBS for what good that would do.

I detest politics being brought into football and and doubt if I am the only fan that felt the same way. He needed to stay off the TV today and to have CBS do an interview was even worse.

Believe football should be a political free zone!

OK. The brain dead idiot wants to shape our minds to idiocy. It makes sense. The more stupid the base and America, the easier it is to shape its consciousness awaiting the words coming from the words of retarded mind shapers and nothing else.
