"Overall, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That matches the lowest level of overall approval yet measured for this president. Fifty-six percent (56%) now disapprove." Willikers! That doesn't sound very hopey changey now does it?

I think Ras had a glitch in his polling last week. I find it hard to believe that “strong support” could go from -17 to -4 and back to -17 in just nine days.

The SOTU approval spike was certainly shortlived.
The Obama Fan Club seems to have gotten over their momentary tingling from seeing the Messiah for a full 70 minutes of shock and awe pontificating.
Now the cold reality sets in for the Obama Fan Club that 75% of rest of the USA thinks that Obama is a doofus.

Obama’s ultimate place in history will be to replace James Earl Carter as the worst president in US history.

I find it hard to believe that strong support could go from -17 to -4 and back to -17 in just nine days.
Actually since his polling is a three day average that makes perfect sense. He was a -17, gave the speech and got three days of good press bumping the average up to -4. Then as people started looking at what was actually in the speech, and discovered that his freeze wasn't' a freeze, his nuclear olive branch came with cap & trade poison ivy and his health care crusade was still on life support. Once they realized that nothing had changed, their opinions went back to where they were before.
It is a fairly typical bump on false news. The stock market sees those all the time.

>> Abyss index is at +1 <<
Probably just a statistical outlier. A single swallow doesn’t make a spring. I think the “true” number is ca. +5.
Therefore I believe we should wait for the ten-day moving average to move into negative territory before bringing out the champagne.

He had “massive democrat majorities” because minorities and the ‘star-struck’ turned out in record numbers to vote for Obama, and the coat-tail effect swept other dems into office that would have never won without Obama on the ticket. This will not be repeated in nine months...
