Tom Tancredo's Feb. 4 Tea party speech in Nashville
Rocky Mountain Foundation ^ | February 5, 2009 | Tom Tancredo

Thank God John McCain Lost! Here’s why

Ever since FDR and with the brief break between 1980 and 1988, which we call the Reagan era, this country has been moving inexorably to the left. Whether a Republican or a Democrat was in office, or in control of Congress the march was always toward bigger government and less individual freedom.

It seemed as though we were doomed to experience the political equivalent of the proverbial frog in the water syndrome. Every year, the liberal Dems and RINO Republicans turned the temp up ever so slightly till it seemed we would all be boiled to death in the cauldron of the nanny state.

And then, because we don’t have a civics literacy test to vote, people who couldn’t even spell vote, or say it in English, put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House named Barack Hussein Obama. He immediately turned up the heat under that cauldron so high and so quick that people started jumping out of the water all over the place.

If John McCain had won we would have had a replay of Bush 1 AND 2. The temperature of the water would continue to rise albeit more slowly, but with the same result in the long run.

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi would be mildly irritated and offer only tepid opposition. The Republicans in Congress would be unwilling to voice real opposition to a President in OUR party. If McCain had been elected, the Neocons would be writing flattering editorials in the Weekly Standard and the Wall Street Journal. Congressman Guiteriez and President McCain would have been posing in the rose garden with big smiles as they received accolades from La Raza for having finally passed an amnesty.

President Calderon and President McCain would be toasting the elimination of those pesky things called borders and major steps taken toward creation of a North American Union.

If McCain had been elected, Sarah Palin would not be free to tell it like it is, the Republicans Congress would never be voting in 100 opposition to left leaning legislation, there would be no Republican in Ted Kennedy’s seat and Chris Matthews would only have had twitching of the toes, instead of that tingle that went all the way up his leg when Obama was elected.

But worst of all, if McCain had been elected, America would have been moving down the same collectivist path and there would have been no Tea Party, no 9-12ers, no rally for America on the Washington Mall, and WE WOULD NOT BE HERE!

So the race is on for the soul of America. The President and his left wing allies in the Congress are going to look at every opportunity to destroy the Constitution before we have a chance to save it. So put your running shoes on. If the Republican Party isn’t keeping up, take it over or run it over. My main concern is that after we make big inroads in the fall, folks will go back to complacency and think the job has been done.

Who knows? The mods fuss with threads and posts and no one knows why. When there is a reason, it’s like a Microsoft Error explanation.

I should I suck up the illiterate gimme gangstas? I have no problem with what Tom Tancredo said about people too dumb to vote. We do need a civics test before you get yr right to vote. States can pass such laws

Even FOX news is taking a dim view of his remarks on zero's voters.

Dumb thing to say.

First, FOX is on the wrong side of things routinely, especially when it comes to being politically correct.

Second, tell me which part of what Tancredo said wasn't true. If it was true, how can it be dumb?

Yes it was and it was only partially true.

A few highly educated people I know voted for Obama because they felt it was safe once again to show they are democrats and there was an intense anti-Bush sentiment from everywhere.

And then ‘moderate’ every other day RINO John McCain and his lunatic desire to be President allowed these educated types who should know better to snicker and say let the young cool hip black guy have the ball. Even though I pointed out Obama was inexperienced, way in over his head and was an empty suit, they were not going to vote for McCain. But they were going to vote because they were mad at Bush.

And I could not blame them for choosing not to vote for McCain.

I think a lot of Obama votes were done to register disgust for the GOP. Yes there were many uninformed people who were easy to manipulate and probably couldn’t spell as a euphemism for just being ‘stupid’ to vote for Obama. Ziegler proved it.

I gave you a link to Tom Tancredo's Journal at The Rocky Mountain Foundation. The first item is the speech in MS Word 2000 Format.

Tom Tancredo will be used to tar the whole of the tea party movement. His stand on Israel was seen as “Anti-Semitic” in the media. He’s is a voice in the movement but not a leader. I found the speech not inflammatory but the thin skinned liberals will say it was nothing but hate and report him as just another racists. Before too long they will be depicting him as a grand dragon of the KKK.

I think he said something about people being able to read and take some test before being qualified to vote.

IMO as long as it applies to everyone, then I’m fine with that.
Also require some official picture ID and yearly purging of the voting rolls.

Who cares what the MSM will do? The only way they wouldn't label a conservative a racist or whatever is if he toed the left wing line. All I want to know is if Tancredo is telling the truth and, in my opinion, he is. The last thing we need to be doing is self-censoring out of fear that the Left will call us names. That is surrendering before you even get started. Speak the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

We shouldn’t give a fig to what the MSM say. We can’t watch out words as the ship of state is steered toward the rocks.
Tom is a voice in the movement —not the only voice—but a voice.

Tom Tancredo was one of the best antiiIslamist voices in congress http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/3633 .
What did he say about ISrael that has been percieved, re-imagine, or reported as anti-Israel?

He did’t state that at the speech but shares the view and supports a party that does.

Tom said the Israel Lobby was all powerful in Washington and they could destroy anyone who didn’t support the jewish state. I do not believe he is an anti-Semite. He was commenting on the aggressive Jewish Lobby more than anything else. I guess that lobby has little clout in Obama’s rule.

I can't find anything on this. Tancredo has attacked the ADL and other leftist lobbies, but I've never heard him attack Israel or that lobby in the US. The Paulestinians and the "paleoconservatives" and anti-Jewish racists attacked him as a tool of the Israeli lobby.

I forgot something. Tancredo attacked the Republican Jewish Coalition for not inviting himself, Duncan Hunter (who I supported), and Ron Paul. Tancredo was correct and I gave up my membership top the RJC.
