Obama Scolds American People...again
The Center For Individual Freedom ^ | February 5, 2010 | Editor

Millions of Americans have lost their jobs and record numbers of families are losing their homes to foreclosure, but have no fear, Barack Obama just told us how to make it through these trying times.

At a town hall meeting in Nashua, New Hampshire, Obama gave the American people a lecture on weathering the financial storm: "When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college."

Excuse us? Does Obama really believe families suffering hardship and misfortune are buying boats and taking extravagant vacations? How dare the president lecture the American people, who are struggling just to make ends meet, when Obama himself fails to practice what he preaches? And as he chastises with one hand, he proposes even more economic hardship and misery with the other.

Obama’s reckless campaign of tax, borrow and spend is driving this nation over a financial cliff. According to his own administration’s latest estimates, the federal deficit for this current fiscal year alone is going to be a whopping 1.6 trillion dollars. Broken down by population, that's approximately 5,300 additional dollars of debt for every man, woman and child in the United States... and that's just for this year.

And to make matters worse, Obama’s proposed 2011 budget, released this week, would triple the national debt over the next 10 years. As Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee put it: " Not only is this budget worse than the last one, but it triples our debt within ten years, features gushers of tax increases, and relies on some partisan commission........

I’ve heard Martin Gross talk as a guest on the Gordon Liddy show. Good man. As for the second book I figure it was the income tax added to the Constitution that is the cancer at the heart of it all. What good are all our other freedoms when the government has 100% access to your wealth? That’s why we need a balanced budget amendment : to cure the first mistake.

What lending institution is lending money for the purchase of a boat to someone who is in danger of falling behind on his mortgage payments?
Obama has permanent craino-rectal inversion. Maybe it’s an echo chamber in there with a hall of mirrors that distorts reality. This guy is demonstrating zero intelligence.

The "Fresh Prez of Belt-Way" had better zip his boot lip if he doesn't want to be metaphorically tarred, feathered, and run out of D.C. on a rail. Lecturing us about our spending habits while he goes through $$TRILLIONS like a drunken chimp with a platinum card?

He is so dangerously out of touch with reality that I honestly believe he has become the most serious national threat we face right now. He has effectively been as politically neutered by Scott Brown's "Massachusetts Miracle" as he was sexually neutered when he married The First Wookie (who insists on wearing the pants in the family).

But he still has Executive Orders, Recess Appointments, and the keys to our Nuclear Arsenal. For a militant Marxist/violent Narcissist sociopathic liar to man that helm is more dire than I think the country yet realizes.

For now, and until we either vote him out in '12 of Impeach him between now and then, our motto has to be "Keep your friends close, and your Prezzadint closer."

Considering that people making $40,000 a year were buying $700,000 houses not long ago, perhaps he does.

proving once again h is a fool, Obama lectures the people to do exactly what they have been doing since this recession began. They have in fact been cutting spending to the bone, hence a continuing slide in the economy.

The guys arrogance is astounding and I have no choice but to believe he really has no idea how he comes across to the average person.

Good point. He probably would! Zero hired a Treasury Secretary who bought his house at the peak in the real estate bubble and who can't figure out how how to pay his taxes. That's his "expert" when it comes to those "complicated financial things". His other advisers -- and Democrat voters -- must be even more clueless.

It's the rest of us -- with our pickup trucks (and cars) with 200,000 miles -- that don't do crazy things like that.

"When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college."

I find Obama's choice of examples... disturbing.

He obviously could have condemned people for buying $200 running shoes, "bling-bling," or plasma screens or having more babies while "living on government largesse (welfare)." But then, his constituency might have gotten sore.

Regards,

Instead they will tell us all how profound Barry Hussein is for uttering such words of wisdom!

This is one of the things that really makes me hit the MUTE button when I see him on TV (which is most of the day!). He says things that only the dumb masses don't seem to know. How often have you heard him say something that you didn't "KNOW"??? Never. He is a President for the Dumb Masses.

Yes, however, Jimmy Carter did not have the MSM soldiering for him. Getting this fraud out of office will prove harder than thought....he has the Unions, his Czars, and the itty, bitty chil’ren and brain dead parents to help him along with most of the MSM.

“You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save for college”

-astute use of the words “blow” and “bunch”... this is why the man is “brilliant”.

Some vocabulary for the Leader of the Free World. He knows how to connect with religious gunowners.

The answer to your puzzlement is in a recent poll: 37% of the electorate has a positive view of socialism. Ironic part of that is about 40% of electorate does not pay any income tax and supports the notion the rich should pay more.

Seems to me, both numbers go hand in hand and point to where we are headed in the US unless some miracle pulls us out of it. On a historical note, most believe that only about a third of the populace supported the Founders...a Third the King and the rest were unconcerned. Perhaps it is time for the majority who do not support socialism to begin the miracle now before it is too late. Vote the Bolshevics out or throw them out is my advice.

A balanced budget amendment would work as well as the 18th amendment did. Congress has ignored every law it passed to regulate its own spending. What makes you think Congress would follow a law enshrined in the Constitution? How much of the Constitution is already shredded and ignored already?
