WASHINGTON, D.C. - A stung U.S. Sen. Scott Brown lashed out at U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy today for insulting his landmark win by calling his candidacy a joke.
Brown said Kennedys remarks are mean spirited, especially coming on the day he was celebrating being sworn into office.
I was elected and the votes are certified and Im here to do my job. Its unfortunate that he would use mean-spirited comments like that at a time when were just trying to solve the problems of the Commonwealth, Brown said today on his first full day on the job.

I must be too young to remember if there were any "good" Kennedy traits.
1. "Rep. Kennedy apparently feels that delay in getting to the people's business is OK - one need only examine his thin record to know that he believes this very deeply. May I remind the honorable representative from Rhode Island that his uncle, when elected in a similar special election 48 years ago, was seated within 24 hours of his election. Had Governor Patrick held himself to the same standard, I would have been seated two weeks ago, and been hard at work saving money for my constituents."<2> 2. "I am not certain why the honorable representative chooses to attack me on the day of my swearing in - is it possible that he is off his medication, or that his prescription has exceeded its "use by" date? Of course, Representative Kennedy is free to resign his Rhode Island seat and move to Massachusetts, where he could both challenge me in 2012 and be eligible for taxpayer-funded medication."

I always thought that billy was covering for patrick! ;-)

Kennedy is going to talk himself into a defeat — just like Coakley did.
Yes, thank you, fieldmarshaldj!!!
We have a new mission!!!!
Actually, he just turned around the classic Democrat phrase “mean-spirited” ... it was a nice little jab...pretty funny as well...magritte
Sure, that was why I added........my opinion.)
mean spirited is a term for sissies. You can do better than that, Mr. Brown.
It’s a term the libs use all the time (and think belongs to them). Using it against them is the perfect irony.
Hmmm...methinks the joke’s on you, Patty.
Me too Fred. I cant afford it, but I may have to send in my lunch money. 2 Kennedy defeats in one year would be un-friggin-believeable! Make it so, God.
This just shows how out of touch the Patrick Kennedy man-child is?
The Kennedy scum really DO think they OWN seats in the people’s senate.
He’s about to be soooo owned in this election. I despise the Kennedy clan.
I agree, pissant. This politically correct BS has to go!
Brown should have said the comment really PISSED me off! Them’s fightin’ words!
Yes, the Kennedy’s really believe they stil own that seat!
You’re so right about that.
ROLF. the joke is that this jackal Patsy Kennedy thinks he has any moral or political or professional standing to call someone else’s candidacy a “joke”......
Patches has been a total embarrassment to his district, state, and country from start to finish.....
I sure do hope that the “Scott Brown joke strategy” thrashes Patsy straight out of office.... time for some real “hope and change” in Rhode Island!!
I think we can make sure that the true legacy is to keep Mary Jo’s memory alive.
LOL @ jackal.
I am at long last, actually hopeful for a Republican win in RI by the defeat of the last Kennedy in congress!!!!
LOL. loving both responses!! but wouldn’t they be just a wee bit too “mean spirited”?? </sarcasm>
Pretty soon we’ll be sick of Brown’s face too!
The incessant media game of ‘gotcha’....
