Appearing on HLN's Feb. 4 "The Joy Behar Show," Winstead - co-creator Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," host of a show for the now-defunct Air America radio network and former executive producer for MSNBC's "Weekends with Maury and Connie" - took a critical shot at Fox News host Glenn Beck.
"He should be institutionalized," Winstead said. "First of all Glenn Beck, why is he even on television? I think it's somehow abusive to have Glenn Beck on TV because he seems mentally unstable."

It’s historically undeniable.
The funny thing about that kind of "reaction" that you're describing of liberals -- is the same type of reaction that some posters will get here on Free Republic from a group of other Freepers, who are also known as "birthers" -- if you question some of their assertions and reasoning to the birther issue... LOL...
So, unfortunately, we conservatives have a "sub-group" here, who react in that same fashion....
She's asking the wrong question of course. She should be asking herself "Why are so many people watching Beck?".
Despite a few disagreements with Beck I’m a regular watcher. Its amazing how much I’m learning from watching his show.
I think this is the real problem liberals have with him. The last thing they want is people learning about them and thinking. Worse yet, inciting people to resist.

Beck is effectively broadcasting the truth behind the lefts strategy.
The really funny thing is that Beck says he’s “crazy.” At least if you want to call being ADD “crazy.” He openly admits his faults and laughs at them, which is why I love him.
Prissy Chrissy and Olberdingleberry, on the other hand, are in total denial.
Beck should not expect the people ( Birthers ) in whom he ridiculed and dissed to come to his rescue.

Beck is one of a kind, as is Rush. If Glenn were institutionalized I see him as a McMurphy in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey, played by Jack Nicholson in the movie.

Agreed. Beck isn’t an expert on, well, anything...but he’s well researched and has delivery. Many things he’s brought up in the past year I have read up on after hearing him talk about it. And that documentary...that was powerfully informative. Those are things you won’t see on History Channel, that’s for sure.

I don't think Beck is worried about a small group of crazies that fit into the Obama Derangement Syndrome, being a significant group or the "hand that feeds him"...
He's already got a larger and more significant group of conservatives that back him so he doesn't have to be concerned about the crazies... LOL...
That's exactly what the comrades back in the USSR did with freedom-loving Russians. They committed them to the Serbsky Institute, and offered them a choice between recanting their "insane" views and formally announcing they loved Big Brother, or getting progressively dosed with permanently mind-destroying drugs.
Our own "comrades" wish they could do the same.
