Tennessee state Senate speaker and gubernatorial candidate Ron Ramsey has joined the growing ranks of officials and prominent commentators who say they are unsure of whether President Barack Obama is a U.S. citizen.

Ramsey was asked Feb. 2 about the issue by Maclin Davis, a former state lawmaker and attorney for the state GOP, the Associated Press reported.

"I don't know whether President Obama is a citizen of the United States or not," Ramsey responded. "I don't know what the whole deal is there."

However, Ramsey added that he doesn't believe citizens are concerned about Obama's citizenship status.

"But I'm going to tell you something," he said. "When you walk out on the street down here, people don't really care about this issue."

Indonesia would have adoption papers, no? Wasn’t Obama officially adopted there by his Indonesian father?

I've seen it claimed, probably based on that school document floating around the net, but I've never seen official papers to back it up.

Regardless, according to Indonesian law in effect at the time Obama would not have become a citizen upon adoption. And even if he had it would not have caused him to forfit his U.S. citizenship.

I hope Bam Bam is not a citizen but what’s troubling is O’Reily reports his people going through newspaper records and finding Bam Bam’s birth announcement in two seperate papers.

Those papers, from all I've read, did carry an apparent contemporaneous birth annoutncement. However, that doesn't end the issue; it only sends us to the Hawaii statutes to see if his could be possible for someone who wasn't born in Hawaii. In fact, it would be posssible because one way a Hawaiian birth could be fraudulently registered for a foreign born child was, and is, for one of the parents simply to fill out and send in a birth certificate claiming an individual, who wasn't' born in Hawaii, was born there. If Stanley Ann Dunham gave birth to Bozo in Kenya, it would have been entirely possible for her to tell her mother, Madelyn Dunham, by phone and have Madelyn file a fraudulent BC on behalf of Bozo. That having been done, the papers would pick up the birth and publish an ordinary birth announcement. BOR and Beck have both been very careful not to mention this highly likely scenario.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) were not allowed to leave a Russian airport Sunday and were locked in a room briefly.

The incident prevented their departure for about three hours, but Obama told the Sun-Times “it ended up not being a very big deal.”

The senators had their passports seized by local officials at an airport in Perm. Obama said the officials demanded, unsuccessfully, to inspect the DC-9 military aircraft being used by the congressional delegation for the trip.

Although he was on a first-time diplomatic mission, Obama has traveled extensively, spending part of his youth in Indonesia and visiting Kenya, where his father was born. He noted that as a back- packing college student he had “a lot less leverage than this time.”

Obama , a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, and Lugar, its chairman, left Wednesday for a trip to inspect sites where nuclear and biological weapons are slated to be destroyed in Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. On Sunday, the U.S. group was scheduled to fly from Perm to Kiev, Ukraine. But border guards wanted proof that the group’s aircraft — which Obama said looked like a “mini-Air Force One” — was really an official U.S. government plane, which would be exempt from an inspection.

Robert Gibbs, Obama ‘s spokesman traveling with him, said in an e-mail that “the border guards took our passports and demanded to inspect our aircraft, which we refused. We were moved to a room to wait.”

“At one point they were demanding to inspect virtually everything, including the gifts their representatives at the missile facility had given us.” The border guard said “they were acting on the authority of the FSB,” the Russian intelligence agency.

Do a little research. He became an Indonesian citizen when his mother married Mr. Sotero. His name was Barry Sotero. He lost his US citizenship at that point.

Based on Indonesian law in effect at the time, found Here, marriage of his mother would not have automatically given Obama Indonesian citizenship. Nor would adoption, had one actually occured, since Obama would have been 5 or 6 when the familiy moved back to Indonesia and thus when the adoption would have been performed. By Article 2, setcion 1 of the same law, adoption only granted citizenship to adopted children under 5. All others would have had to apply for citizenship when they reached their majority.

And according to federal law, Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter III, Part III, § 1481, person born in the U.S. can only lose their citizenship if they perform what's called an expatriating act. This act must be deliberate and not done accidentally. And it can only be performed once a person has reached 18. Obama could not lose his citizenship because of the actions of others. He could not have it taken from him by foreign law.

All your claims are incorrect. Which you would have known had you done a little research.

Which means precisely nothing. Anybody can call up a newspaper and get a birth announcement printed. "Born to xxx and yyy a son on xxxxxxxx". Grandma in Hawaii or even mommy in Kenya could have submitted it. If both the announcements give the hospital of birth or the residence address of the parents, it might have some slight credibility.

WND has, IMHO, spread confusion on this issue, not enlightenment.

The confusion plays right into Team Obama's hands. Their objective is to totally eradicate the constitutional difference between "Citizen," and "Natural Born Citizen," making POTUS eligibility a "Civil Right," of any citizen, rather than the national security safeguard it was intended to be. By making Obama POTUS, The Electoral College has attempted to amend the Constitution without due process by making Obama the de facto POTUS. Even if he succeeds in serving out 1 term, that cannot be allowed to stand on the books. It ain't really just about Obama and the Evil Party. For example, many members of the Stupid Party are talking up Bobby Jindal. Guess what. Neither of his parents were citizens at the time of his birth. He is not a "Natural Born Citizen." He's a "Native Born Citizen." Not eligible.

The Hawaiian Birth Certificate thing is now a non-issue.
Why?
Because according to the laws of the State of Hawaii in regard to public information, Obama's documentation is available to ANY citizen who asks.

If WND were serious about seeing the Prepostor's Birth Certificate, they could go to Hawaii, get a good lawyer in Honolulu, and start taking the stonewalling Department of Health to Court. IMHO, would be a better use of their subsctribers' money than a billboard campaign. Team Obama wants to make this as adversarial as possible to stall it out beyond 2012, simply as a confusing tactic to divert attention away from the courts where they would have to prove eligibility.

I would love to see the Birth Certificate, OK? But the Constitutional issue with BHO, Jr. is really about who his father was. If his father was who Obama says he was, he is not a "Natural Born Citizen," even if it were to be found that he was born in Hawaii during a 4th of July Luau on the lawn of the Queen's Palace.

Obama just might turn out to be a "Native Born Citizen." It is all he claims to be! According to the traditional reading of the Constitution, that simply isn't enough to qualify him for the office of the President.

WND missed its big chance at immortality when they failed to get Jerome Corsi's accounts of his mission in Kenya on the national radar. Neither could WND bring attention to the sad fact that Obama (and the Weasel Dick Morris) campaigned all over Kenya, making stump appearances for Obama's "cousin" Raile Odinga, a marxist, a jihadist; whose platform called for expulsion of Christians. When he lost, he fomented a civil war, in which thousands of Kenyan Christians lost their lives. They blew a real story and now are just dealing in sensationalism by spinning their version of the Birther Issues and barely mentioning the Constitutional Issue.

I’m not saying that Obama would have become an Indonesian citizen upon adoption. However, adoption requires production of an official birth certificate in just about every country. It would be interesting to see what official papers Indonesia has.

Silly, Silly Silly. Obama’s mother was an American, therefore he is eligible no matter where he was born. If conservatives lose ground in the next election, the crazy obsession of the birthers with this issue will be partly responsible.
