Tennessee state Senate speaker and gubernatorial candidate Ron Ramsey has joined the growing ranks of officials and prominent commentators who say they are unsure of whether President Barack Obama is a U.S. citizen.
Ramsey was asked Feb. 2 about the issue by Maclin Davis, a former state lawmaker and attorney for the state GOP, the Associated Press reported.
"I don't know whether President Obama is a citizen of the United States or not," Ramsey responded. "I don't know what the whole deal is there."
However, Ramsey added that he doesn't believe citizens are concerned about Obama's citizenship status.
"But I'm going to tell you something," he said. "When you walk out on the street down here, people don't really care about this issue."

We've been through this before. You're right Obama is not a honorable man. Now what?
Last time I checked, honor is not a presidential eligibility requirement. Deal with it.
The entire point of my post is that it is the Dems who must deal with! There is more to Obama’s eligibility than just the civil courts.
There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that the Dems can drive around this 2 ton, great big, stinking, dead, putrefying carcass of eligibility road kill blocking the way to the elections.
That is why I believe there was a DNC memo released this week and Obama ( himself) bring the citizenship issue up at the Prayer Meeting. They are at Stage II of damage control.
Thank you for clearing that up... I was mistaken and took it from a web sight, my mistake.
None of them say where the birth occurred or name the child, that's part of the point. If the announcement originated from Obama's mother or grandmother, as Wonder Warthog had suggested in reply 103, then don't you think they would include that? The notices obviously originated from a single source, probably the agency that records live births. That doesn't necessarily disprove the Birther conspiracy theory of Obama being born overseas and someone registering it for him but how likely is that? If he really was born outside the U.S. what possible motivation would there be for his grandmother to run out and file for a birth certificate within hours of his delivery?
Oh come on, all the bazillion Bithers out there couldn't duplicate what your unnamed, sinister organization could?
Dream on. The people who believe that aren't going to vote for him no matter what, so why should he care?
Not probably. Certainly, as the page with teh announcements carries the heading, "Health Bureau Statistics."
“It’s not a birth certificate, it’s a certification of birth!” -— Stupid on Toast.
