Cambridge - A Brighton resident was robbed at gunpoint on Alewife Brook Parkway Jan. 25, according to a police report.
The victim was walking on the footpath from the bridge to the parking lot in front of Staples at 178 Cambridge Park Drive at 7:40 p.m. when the suspect approached him.
A white male in a puffy black jacket allegedly came out from behind a tree with a knife in his hand and said, Give me your fing wallet.
The victim said he took his wallet out of his jacket pocket and gave it to the suspect who ran off in an unknown direction. He also threw "The Great Hunt," a fantasy book he had, at the suspect and ran towards the mall.

I thought he had a gun? The artical says he came out from behind the tree holding a knife? Did I miss something?
Probably a Kennedy robbing people because the klan is out of power now. They need cash for pills and booze.
The guy was white so if the Cambridge cops arreested him they would not be “acting stupidly.”
I think that in Cambridge you can ‘tote’ the gun but you cannot actually use it. It’s the law.
I think it is just another recent illegal immigrant “journalist” and they are still learning English.
The Florida newspapers have the same problem. News articles become a great mystery because you have no clue what occurred.
I would have said my wallet doesn’t F*** and then thrown the book at him.
Well you know what they say, "The Wheel Weaves as The Wheel Wills".
Don’t bring a book to a knife? gun? fight.
That’ll teach him!
When books are outlawed, only outlaws will have books.
I think that was the very first Staples location. Anyone know for sure?
I’m a little more sure the very first Kinkos was on the Harvard campus about a mile south looking at Western Ave.
I carry a ‘throw-down’ wallet ... it’s filled with all those pre-qualified fake credit cards and Chick Bible tracts ... drop it and run ..... although I do ‘carry’ ...
A gun makes a more spectacular headline!
I carry a wallet to the mall. It has a nice area for my Kaltec 32 caliber pistol with the finger slot for the trigger.
I have never had to use it. but I am prepared.
When is Congress finally going to get serious and enact tough but fair fantasy-novel control legislation?
too bad he didn’t have a loaf of bread to beat the robber with...(see other article)
The first Staples was on Soldier’s Field Road in Brighton right near the Charles River .
I remember when it opened and I thought that a store just selling office supplies was such a silly idiea. :-)
