So who at NBC thought it would be a good idea for the special today to be, among other things, fried chicken, in honor of Black History Month?
Because, spoiler alert it wasnt a good idea at all. And now NBCU employee Questlove is bringing it to the attention of his 1 million plus Twitter followers.
Questlove, the band leader and drummer for The Roots (the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon) tweeted this picture from the NBC Commissary at 30 Rock, with the comment: Hmm HR?

Wow! I knew his career took a big hit, but I didn’t realize Fuzzy Zoeller was lowered to running the NBC cafeteria?
I’m kind of fond of fried chicken myself. Now if a cafeteria featured potatoes and green beer for St. Patrick’s day I would happily partake.
And we all know that Colonel Sanders is black.
You have communicated my thoughts perfectly.
Sounds like good eatin’ to me! But I can’t imagine the roar had this been in the Fox News cafeteria.
Grape soda & a pack of Kools?
Nope. An RC Cokcola and a moon pie.
Fried chicken is great, what seems to be the problem?
should offered a 40oz bottle of Olde English malt liquor to wash it all down with.
And, if in New Orleans, a gin & juice.
About to go into a meeting, ping.
"Supposedly", it is offensive because it harken back to the days of both sharecropping (no time for lunch)and when blacks could not eat in restaurants. They packed fried chicken because it keeps well and still tastes good cold. I don't know. Rastus is supposed to be offensive too and I have never known blacks who longed for cream of wheat.
Orange soda.
I laughed But jesse and al better start picketing right now
as Hound said IF this had been Fox it would be all over the news and libs would scream loudly that it shows how racist Fox and conservatives are
understand being upset at offensive stereotypes ... but I have never understood being offended at the stereotype of liking fried chicken. Everybody likes fried chicken ... because its freaking awesome.
In New Orleans tourists seek out our soul food restaurants for just that same menu and our black people are proud to serve it up. But, it is amusing when liberals tries to get righteous on us ;)
Black History?
What, no pierogis?
In honor of the Matka Boska?
OK, I’m not offended. Rightfully.
What crap, you can’t fix decent greens with smoked turkey you have to use smoked jowl. Gee, don’t those yankees know anything.
Good catch sticker. Yea yankees are a very ignorant bunch. Why don’t they stick to yankee cooking - you know boil everything and serve it with potatoes.
“Who in their right mind thinks jalapeno chillis should be served in cornbread to celebrate black history month? Down south we dont use chillis in our corn bread.”
You are right! And they left out sweet tea, sweet potato pie and peach cobbler...yummy
About like being in boston a few years ago, went to a restaurant that said everything on the menu can be ordered blackened. That had to be authentic
