Hard-charging CNN anchorman Anderson Cooper was so moved by the suffering from the earthquake in Haiti, he's decided to adopt a Haitian orphan, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.
The silver-haired journalist and his hunky boyfriend, Ben Maisani, plan to raise the child together in their recently purchased home, a former firehouse they're renovating in New York's West Village, pals say.
"The death and destruction in Haiti made Anderson realize what's really important. He and Ben have decided to become dads," a longtime friend told The ENQUIRER.
"Ben has been the best thing that's ever happened to Anderson. They both feel they're ready for a baby."
Anderson, 42, flew to the devastated country shortly after the quake struck on Jan. 12.
Meanwhile, back in New York, 37-year-old club owner Ben has been overseeing renovations on the historic firehouse Anderson recently bought, the friend said.
And Anderson has been so affected by the devastation in Haiti that he's begun arrangements to adopt one of the country's orphans.
Although fatherhood may curtail some of Anderson's globe-trotting, he's not planning to give up his work anytime soon.
"It just means once they get their son, he won't jump on a plane for every story," said the friend.
"Plus Ben is totally capable of keeping things under control when Anderson is away."
I predicted Haitian orphans would be this year’s “must have” among liberals
Mennnnnnnnnnnnnn!
Ben Maisani
I guess we can figure out which one is the 'wife'. /s
All the right NYC people will have a Haitian baby and one of those faggy little dogs. Anderson Cooper - poofter extrodinaire.
I can’t get youtube at work, but someone, please, find a MAD TV sketch about crack babies. (It was the latest craze — everyone had to have a crack baby to show that they care.)
Too funny....I predicted this very thing during the 2nd week of CNN coverage.
I KNEW IT!
But lousy journalists can have kids too.
Manhattan bar owner Ben Maisani is rumored to be more than just a crush for CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. Things have supposedly gotten so serious that the National Enquirer reports that the two are looking at real estate together and Anderson might actually be thinking about coming out of the closet.
Ben goes shirtless at his bar?

The Chruch group probably did not bribe any Hatian government officials.
Damn. I didn’t even know that guy was a poof!
Preferably a 10 year old boy orphan.
Does anyone see a double standard at work here? With that being said, whomever the child is, they won’t go without material things, ever.
Anderson’s best friend was Micheal Jackson. What could possibly go wrong?
Hey, I don’t care HOW people help the poor, starving, vulnerable orphaned children of Haiti. I’m just glad to see ANY of these children be given a shred of hope and a measure of stability in their lives.
His mother is Gloria Vanderbilt.
What do you expect? /s
She married her fourth husband, author Wyatt Emory Cooper on December 24, 1963. They had two sons, Carter Vanderbilt Cooper, in 1965, and future CNN reporter Anderson Cooper, born in 1967. Wyatt Cooper died in 1978 during open heart surgery in New York City. Carter Cooper committed suicide on July 22, 1988, by jumping from the family’s 14th floor apartment as his mother tried in vain to stop him.
She maintained a romantic relationship with photographer and filmmaker Gordon Parks for many years until his death in 2006.
but has had an “uncountable” number of romances.

There are 13 outlined in her latest book, “It Seemed Important at the Time: A Romance Memoir.” But the 80-year-old heiress says she has enough material to fill “maybe 10 more.”
She had an affair with the dashing Howard Hughes when she was still a teenager. “I would have married him in a minute,” she says.
And the charming Frank Sinatra. “Oh, Frank Sinatra was a great friend,” she says, “’cause he came along and ring-dinged his way into my heart... and he just - you know - was a lot of fun, very romantic. I never saw him ever involved in any - you know - violence or anything that actually friends warned me about, you know.”
There was a one-night stand with Marlon Brando, whom she says kept a large portrait of himself in the bedroom. And there was a date - arranged by her old friend Truman Capote - with the very married chairman of CBS - William Paley.
“Well, Truman said that Bill Paley was interested in me and would I be interested in having a romance with him, and he tried to set that up, you know.”
Vanderbilt met with him even though she knew he was married.
“Does anyone see a double standard at work here? With that being said, whomever the child is, they wont go without material things, ever.”
Sure is a double standard. And yes, I agree even if Haitian children become the newest “liberal accessory”, they will not go without medical attention and other material things.
too funny.
look for Madonna to arrive in Haiti soon.
