Once sworn in, I suggest the Senator then stop by Teddy’s grave... and pee on the headstone.
Bianca de la Garza in third video... *wolf whistle*
I agree, but Kirk is giving his “farewell speech” at 3:30PM or 3:45PM in the US Senate!
How about THAT?
LOL ... the dims are getting in their last digs .... I LOVE IT ~!

Galvin takes shot at Brown, certifies election

Secretary of State William Galvin this morning called on U.S. Sen.-elect Scott Brown to respect the rights of the majority during a Governor Councils meeting called to certify the results of last months special election.
Galvin said he was referring to speculation Brown made a sudden push yesterday to be seated quickly because of an effort to block an up-or-down vote on one of President Obamas nominees for the National Labor Relations Board.
Id like to call on Senator Brown now to respect the rights of the majority, Galvin said. I hope that we will be able to see an up or down vote on all the nominations of President Obama and that the rights of the majority that are being respected here will be respected by the United States Senate and Senator Brown.
Brown initially expected to be seated on Feb. 11. His victory in the Jan. 19 special election was certified by a vote of the Governors Council. Gov. Deval Patrick and Galvin signed two certificates affirming his election. One was given to a Brown aide and the other is being delivered to the secretary of the U.S. Senate.
Browns swearing in is set for 5 p.m. Today.
Galvin expressed concern about the 41st vote Brown has come to represent. His upset election last month ended the Democrats super majority in the Senate.
I think much of what weve seen in this whole discussion is about the 41st vote. Last time I checked the Constitution, it didnt say anything about needing 60 votes for every single thing that needs to be done.
I think that contributes to gridlock, Galvin said. This is about a process where the majority rules. Hopefully he will respect the rights of the majority.
Galvin also said any speculation about whether the certification process was delayed is unfounded.
Thats completely without merit, he said.
Brown is expected to resign his state senate seat today, Galvin said. Another special election will be scheduled to choose his successor.
In the final vote tally, Brown received 1,168,178 votes to clinch his win over Democrat Attorney General Martha Coakley, who got 1,060,861 votes. Independent Joseph L. Kennedy got 22,388 votes. There were 1,155 votes cast for other candidates and 1,145 blank ballots tallied.

We don’t know a lot about him....I think he is less than a rino but not a conservative...better than the alternative is about the best than can be said right now...
The video below expressly mentions the Becker vote as one reason Scott “demanded” to be seated one week early, so we shall see if the democrats try to vote on Becker today before Scott is seated.
Video: this morning in the dark outside Brown’s house... LOL
Thanks so much for this thread, onyx! Is it still 5pm? I've been searching all over the 'net this AM while FR was down - again - to get the exact time, but I haven't been able to find any specific time except "as early as 5pm", "this afternoon" and "this evening". Even Scott's Facebook and Twitter accounts aren't updated.
Have to go out in a couple of hours... please keep us posted if there are any changes. :o)
He’s too respectful for that, but I like your suggestion. :)
I promise you. In fact, I will ping first no matter what!
Howie said (paraphrasing), "Come on Scott, you know that's done by the legislator's lawyer. And the speech always ends with 'And we plan to appeal the conviction."
He also observed that, between elections, Scott's the only guy he can think of who left the State House not wearing handcuffs..:-)
I'm so glad he's finally getting sworn in - sure hope he does right by us.
I've seen enough to be prepared for some disappointing votes from Scott Brown, as well as some good ones.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find only things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelogus
And he shouldn't have been allowed to the minute the election was over.
Thems the rules, but the dems? They don't need no stinkin' rules!
If the GOP had any guts, they would demand that every measure that the illegal "senator" voted upon should be brought to a vote again with only real senators voting.
*poof* Just woke up from a nice dream...lol
LOL. Howie wrote a great column too. I’ll have to remember to listen to his show more often.
I think Senator Brown will do fine by us. My expectations are reasonable. I trust him to keep his word on the issues he outlined on his site which I linked on this thread.
Just trying to be optimistic in the face of Democrat shenanigans. :\
(At least he's on his way before 2/11).
This is Paul Kirk. If you are an American he ripped you off for over $6000. Paul Kirk is the temporary Senator for Massachusetts. He is the senator , illegally, because the law was changed, ex-post facto , to let the Governor rather than the people of Massachusetts select him. Even After Scott Brown won Paul Kirk continued to vote in the Senate, doubly illegal now because Kirk should have lost his vote after that election. Paul Kirk voted along with 59 other RATS on January 28 to rise the debt limit 1.9 Trillion dollars. A vote that would have failed without him. If dollars bills were laid end to end starting from the sun this would go past the orbit of Mars. That is $6258 for every man woman and child in America. Perhaps the largest theft in the history of man and it has attracted no more attention then a local car wreck.
Speaking of wrecks, this may be the final blow that plunges America into bankruptcy. Needless to say this will cripple America's ability to defend itself and allow all kinds of evil now laying in wait to wreck havoc upon the world. Congradulations Thiefsenator Paul, the new decade is only 28 days and you have perhaps succeeded in becoming one of its most evil men.
Thanks, FRiend! I have some more info I'll post in a minute... looks like the time IS definitely 5pm, at least so far.
Gotta get some champagne to crack open tonight! ;-D
I agree with you, syncro, but I wonder if the party in power sets the senate rules?
Recall when Jeffords jumped and made it a 50-50 tie and Dashcle wanted “shared” power, even though VP Cheney was the tie breaker? Senate rules and committee fights came into play.
LOL .... and trim yer eyebrows, Bill!

Note how he throws the ball to the Dim Congress
.. and how it’s up to them whether or not to “honor”
the pre-cert letter from Mass. And we know they
would delay and delay on this one, if they could
find ANY loophole. It just wasn’t possible .. this
time ... because the win was DECISIVE, thank God !
