Calling the United States a “nation of prayer,” President Bush joined religious leaders and politicians at the annual National Prayer Breakfast Feb. 1. “Many in our country know the power of prayer,” he said. “Prayer changes hearts. Prayer changes lives. And prayer makes us a more compassionate and giving people.” According to the Religion News Service (RNS), more than 3,500 guests munched on granola and coffee cake during the gathering that brings high-powered political figures from Washington and abroad together with religious leaders for Scripture and speeches.

He described the 55th annual breakfast as an opportunity for “sowing the seeds of civility in this city, in our country and in the world.” Dr. Francis Collins, the director of the National Human Genome Research Institute, was the keynote speaker, and contemporary Christian artist Nicole C. I think Obama uses this citizenship thing as a tactic to demean his opponents as crazy, and also as a warning to 'mainstream' political and media types to stay away from this subject. When was the last time the media talked about the crazy 'birther' movement? Ask yourself why Obama would now bring that topic up if the furor has died down?

I get the feeling that he's feeling threatened. As I see it if it really were a non-issue then why even bring it up? What's the point? There's plenty of ways to make your opponents sound like nuts without doing this. Thanks to the lack of reporting eighty percent of the country has no idea that this is even an issue. Why make it an issue?

I try to imagine what any other President would do when faced with the same issue. If it were an issue they would just show any and all documents related to their birth. Period. It's over. Experts could verify documents. The releasing state would release it to whomever.

Then I want to see the one he used for obtaining his first passport.

And the one for college admissions. Did he attend college and receive financing as a foreign national?

How is it that he has copies of vaccination records, which would have been presented to his kindergarten school, for the purpose of admissions?

Of course there are whole host of things I would like to see and just one will put him jeopardy of the others.
