Orrin Hatch: Open To Repeal Of DADT (Barf Alert)
FDL ^ | Feb 3, 2010 | David Dayen

Posted on 02/03/2010 12:22:06 PM PST by DesertRenegade

This is a significant development. It’s one thing for Mike Mullen and Colin Powell to go on the record favoring the repeal of the military’s don’t ask don’t tell policy, it’s another for Republicans with the responsibility of voting on the policy talking about their openness to repeal. And now, appearing on Andrea Mitchell’s show, Orrin Hatch signaled his willingness to repeal the policy, although he’s clearly hedging his bets. Here’s a rough transcript of what Hatch had to say:

Hatch: I think people are very concerned. I believe there are very outstanding, patriotic gay people who serve in the military who ought to be given credit for it. And they shouldn’t have to lie about being gay. On the other hand, I think a lot of people are concerned that if you do away with the don’t ask don’t tell, that then they’ll come back and ask for special rights and preferences and privileges that others don’t have. I don’t see that either. So, like I say, I just plain do not believe in prejudice of any kind.

Mitchell: So you’re willing to vote for the change?

Hatch: Well I don’t know about that, I’d have to look at it. I’d have to really see, and of course, they recommend, Admiral Mullen said at least a year study by them, and then they’d come out and make the final recommendation. At least that’s what I got out of it. I’d like to wait until the end and then see what they come up with and see what happens. I can see why people on both sides are upset, but I just want to do what’s right.

Mitchell: I can put you down as being open to it.

Hatch: I am.

Hatch has just solidified his reputation as a diehard RHINO. To pander to the homosexual activists in order to appear PC is truly despicable. This is a perfect example of how a slimy politician like Hatch values compromise more than the strength of our military. To introduce open homosexuality into our military while we are fighting two wars is total insanity!

Mitchell: I can put you down as being open to it.
Hatch: I am.

Next, trannys in the military, then military hospitals creating trannys, then all military facilities (including ships at sea) converting heads to *men*, *Women*, *Can't make up my damn mind*.

I can just hear the Village People’s “In the Navy” being blared in the streets of Key West, San Francisco, Saugatuck, and Fire Island.

It is not a surprise that Hatch would fall for this action.
Next when a homosexual dies their partner will demand death benefits and the feds will institute the legalization of homosexual marriage. (I wonder if they will be exempt from the marriage penalty income tax.)(Ok that's a bit conspiratorial....)

Openly gay military members? Try it. If it causes problems, fix the problems. If the problems can’t be fixed, get rid of it. Not exactly rocket surgery.

I'm open to this as long as some very stringent conditions are met. I agree any one that wants to serve our country can, but if it turns out to be a PC hell for the troops then it's a no go. Gays have always been in the military and for the most part have served honorably. Just my 2 cents.

Study the issue, figure out the best, least intrusive way to implement, and then run it in a test phase. But if this damages cohesion or morale in ANY way, it should be scrapped.

These idiots want to transform our military into a troupe of pink, prancing ballerinas.

It's just another ploy Obama is implementing to further weaken our country; to enable America to be overrun with his tyrannical Muslim brothers.

But it will be. Of course, it will be. To speak out against homosexuality, or even so much as disagree with them will be seen as a hate crime.

AND a jack Mormon !

Unrepentant faggotry is an excommunicable offense. Supporting faggotry is at the very least a significant sin.

But then again I guess we have Hatch act like a total rhino putz many times in the last.

DUMP HATCH !

Common sense tells you that introducing male/male penetrative sex into military barracks and showers is going to cause a hell of a lot of problems.

Gays have always been in the military and for the most part have served honorably.

I'd agree. But they didn't serve openly. The goal here is achieving societal APPROVAL for their perversion, not military service.

And once that's achieved, why shouldn't every other perversion be accepted and approved of. Bestiality ? S&M ? Pedophilia ? Transgenderism ? Once the fags are officially approved of there is no logical reason to disapprove of the others.

"Hey, so I like to have consensual relations with my dog. That's who I am."

"I want to marry my daughter. That's who I am."

No, it's not who they are that's the problem, because their perversions are not who they are, but what they DO.

DADT well serves the homosexual who wants to serve. It does poorly for those who want to flaunt their perversions in everybody's face and demand approval.

Good old, dependable Orrin. Always on the lookout for someone/something to betray, sell out or undermine. As long as it is something that is favored by actual Americans, of course.

Let’s face it. Most of the Republicans are worth less than a bucket of warm spit.

There is going to be a huge drop in enlistment among young recruits when they learn that they have to accept some queer pleasuring himself in the shower and staring at them. Has anyone proposed letting normal straight soldiers shower with nude females? Give me a break.

EXACTLY.

Why is DADT such a burden?
