...The U.S. Attorney's Office in Dallas announced Wednesday that Hodge pleaded guilty in Dallas to fraud and false statements on an income tax return.

She faces up to three years in prison, a $100,000 fine and restitution to the IRS. A sentencing date has not been set.

Hodge has agreed never again to hold public office. The Dallas Democrat has been a state representative since 1996 and was running for re-election.

According to court documents, Hodge received more than $32,000 in rental subsidies, utilities and carpeting from an apartment developer who built complexes in her district. She never declared the funds as income on tax returns....

I’m surprised that liberal rag the Houston Chronicle mentioned so early in the article that this guy is a Dim...I had just read on some site that in over 23 hours of coverage during the past qweek or so of John Edwards by the three networks, not ONCE has the word Democrate been used with regards to him....hypocrites!

4th paragraph down, second line:

“The Dallas Democrat has been a state representative since 1996 and was running for reelection.”

Party would’ve been in the headline if it was republican.

I heard a snippet with the Edwards’ campaign staffer on the radio today (podcast at ktrh houston).

He says that the decision to say it was his kid came 10 days before the Iowa caucus when the Enquirer came sniffing around.

The deceit lasted much of the election. The MSM avoided this story even after the hotel rendezvous.

The media was complicit in keeping Edwards’ candidacy alive (and Hillary in a 3-way race for delegates).

The media didn’t shy away from allegations that John McCain had had an affair with a lobbyist in the past. Edwards’ affair was a contemporary event with the woman being put in a paid position on staff (nice cover for hush money) and a staffer was pressured to take the fall (conspiracy to coverup the truth). The charges even become greater if Edwards and staff lied to FEC investigators about the misappropriation of campaign funds.

When a pattern is repeated over an over, it’s fair to stereotype said pattern. My first thought was confirmed (sadly), adding yet more weight to said stereotype.

You reap what you sow!

This sour face, foul mouth witch deserve everything coming her way. The Judge need to throw the book at her.

On another note: While she’s not a man she plays for the other team.

Dallas is having a tough time with their African American Politicians. Hodge is dogging a bullet and taking a deal. One even tried to get a hook into a juror after he was convicted. Of course all will appeal and a libtard judge will let them free. It happened before and will (sadly) happen again.
