The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat Ghost Ring rear sight and XS4 Contour Bead front sight, Knoxx Reduced Recoil Adjustable Stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty based on compatibility with IRS existing shotgun inventory, certified armorer and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts.

Government buildings, even DMV's now have CCTV cameras, secured parking for their overpaid employees, razor wire, automated vehicle barriers, dogs, scanners, hundreds of thousands of armed guards searching all citizens who enter, card lock entries, bullet proof glass, etc..
The cost of these armed, fortress like government installations have cost the tax payers hundreds of billions.....

Banks can still (and still do) issue notes. See HSBC Bearer Notes. The question is which entities have the right to "increase the money supply" or create money in the first place.
Anyway, I agree that the Federal Reserve is a bastardization of government and industry, ala Freddie and Fannie, only more insidious on account of the Federal reserve isn't as accountable to the people as Congress is. My simplistic explanation is that where Congress used to issue money in an accountable fashion (and has the authority to do so without entering into a borrowing/debt agreement with a bank), now it hides behind "The Federal Reserve," and promises to the Federal Reserve to repay MORE than it borrows from the Federal Reserve, with the difference to be made up by tax receipts.

When the govt can print money, as they do, what we really have is a currency based on the entire physical plant and GNP of the US America. When they print more, the value of the money in our bank accounts decreases. By their action, they are selling off a piece of the whole asset base of the US. They are either stealing, or they own us lock stock and barrel and can sell us or save us at their whim.
That's true. But it will be limited to businesses who are collecting sales tax and not reporting it or are incorrectly reporting business to business transactions.
A 90% reduction in the number of entities to audit and the fact that 80% of the tax collections will come through only about 20% of the retailers will make focused auditing easier.
And the enforcer is less likely to meet armed resistance when auditing Walmart* and Sears than at Joe's Garage.
Also, states will become the primary enforcer and they have become adept at spotting bogus sales tax reports.

And Walmart would have more resources to hire lawyers and accountants to battle the enforcers.

Those large entities are what are called ‘Tax Farmers’. They collect and deliver taxes, much as farmers deliver pumpkins or corn.
In ten years we will see ‘Letters of Marque’ type organizations that will ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ roam and collect taxes for a percentage. They will be given near Treasury agent like rights to armed entry, open books, etc...
Wow, give ‘em an inch and they’ll take 14 feet!
