By May, seven devices about the size of a personal computer will be placed in regions of the state where methane emissions are believed to be the highest.

You could have a LOT of fun “GASSING” the units! Maybe we could have a little friendly competition between counties?

Why don’t they just develop the methane-seeking missile?

Put the sources out of their misery.

It is a good thing California has found a use for all that surplus money it has.

It isn’t like they are cutting services to its citizens or trying to illegally raise fees and taxes. No way.

No budget problems to be solved, time to do expensive symbolic gestures!

Liberal bureaucrats are like dogs chasing their tails.

But the tax payers are supplying the dog chow.

said Jorn Herner, the scientist managing the program at the California Air Resources Board. "This is new and pioneering work."........ and we're just giddy over what this new data will allow us to do to CA businesses.

The madness goes on, and on, and on. The politicians and the bureaucrats they've installed are certifiably insane.

They will keep this up until the state goes into default.

They’re already in a sea of red ink, I guess a couple billion more in wasteful spending won’t hurt. :)

Meaningless nonsense. They will have no way to know what the naturally emissions will be. Yes...methane is a naturally occurring substance.

This is a scam.

By the way...the 2007 UN IPCC report says there have been no increase in worldwide methane emissions. As a matter of fact...they have gone down.
