Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has scheduled a key vote Monday afternoon on a controversial Labor Department nominee, even though Republican Sen.-elect Scott Brown has not yet been sworn in yet. The vote has riled at least one watchdog group, saying Reid is just trying to ram through the nomination of Patricia Smith for Labor Department solicitor before Republicans have enough votes to block her. And a spokesman for Sen. Mike Enzi, the Republican senator who had put a "hold" on Smith's nomination last year, said Enzi would prefer "all controversial nominations" be put off until Brown is seated.
Enzi, ranking Republican on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, put out a report Monday saying Smith's "lack of candor" in prior testimony before his committee makes her "unqualified" for the post.

DIMS: We’ll ram it all thru before Feb 11th.
My question is “when the hell is Brown going to be seated?”
Well, lets see if the pubbies raise a stink. How about a walk out in protest. That would cause the media to have to report on lack of bipartisan support. Would like some pressure brought by pubbies.
Why is someone who was “selected, not elected” still sitting in the Senate when his “special election” replacement has been named?
Barney Fwank called you a conspiracy nut for daring to suggest that the Rats would do as they are doing.
Yet another illegal vote by a non-Senator
Feb 11th I read on FR.
Can the pubbies cobble together enough testosterone to put a hold on business like this? My God, by and large they are the lamest group of Richard-less wonders ...
Massachusetts GOP Senator-elect Scott Brown is looking at Feb. 11 as his swearing-in day, a spokesman told POLITICO.
Brown spokesman Felix Browne said their office has indicated to the Secretary of the Senate that they anticipate the certification process will be completed by then, but that they are ultimately amenable to other days should the Senate set another day.

I say we call for thier arrest for the crime of treason.

PROGRAM
Mr. REID. Mr. President, the next vote will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday. That will be on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Patricia Smith to be Solicitor for the Department of Labor.
I announced earlier that the vote on Monday will end at 5:50 p.m. If somebodys plane is late, or whatever the situation, that is what it is going to have to be. We have to close that vote for procedural purposes, as everybody knows.
From the article:
“Enzi would prefer “all controversial nominations” be put off until Brown is seated.”
To answer your question, “Can the pubbies cobble together enough testosterone to put a hold on business like this?” - the gentlemen are not making any meaningful attempt to do so.
They do not realize they are in a street fight with thugs. “They” are the “don’t-make-waves” leadership that required Joe Wilson to apologize to O for calling him on his lie. They are, perhaps, nice guys, but they are not street fighters.
Republicans/Conservatives are fighting a two-front war. The record indicates we are losing.
If there is a HOLD, how can the vote go forward?
I already emailed Mitchie the kid McConnell, asking why he hasn’t demanded that Kirk NOT be permitted to vote, as per the Constitution and the law!!
Dingy Harry seems eager to offer a consolation prize to Rich Trumka, who was out all over TV this weekend predicting that Card Check will pass this year. (just how he expects that will happen he did not really say)
HEY BROWN! GO IN. SIT DOWN.
Scott Brown will be sworn in on Thursday...just heard on FoxNews governor will have certification on Wed.
DIMS: Well ram it all thru before Feb 11th 4th.
