In the matter of Obama v. Alito, I side with the president. I agree with him on the merits of the argument, but that’s beside the point....

Mark Salter is the former Chief of Staff to Senator John McCain, senior adviser to his presidential campaign, and co-author of his five books.

This is a small excerpt, but I thought it was interesting that Salter agrees with Obama when not one legal scholar agrees nor could the White House back up what the President said in the SOTU address. I wonder if it was Salter who advised McCain to suspend his campaign over the bailout bill and show up to the debate supporting the Bill?

I also wonder if he is the one to advise McQueeg to tell America that the was nothing to fear from an Obama presidency.

They are stuck on stupid.

Obama showed NO CLASS in what he did. Period.

If any of the conservative justices made a reference to something Obama did it would be held up as grounds for impeachment.

Obama has no class. He is at best a political THUG.

the more we find out about the people running the McCain campaign, the more we have to wonder about John McCain’s compos mentis and motivations for staying in public office

Please walk away Sarah. Walk away very fast.

Most people don’t realize how much of the ‘thinking’ and positioning of politicians on policy issues is actually guided, and sometimes determined, by their staff.

No one has the ability to be an expert on every issue and so stall become the gatekeepers to the politician’s brain.

No matter who a writer picks as right or wrong, the fact is what Obama said about foreign corps is incorrect and that is why Alito disagreed.

the brilliant constitutional scholar obama (sarc) has always been a big fan of Samuel Alito (sarc)

Perhaps that’s why Alito reportedly missed the USSC “meet and greet” after obama was (fraudulently) sworn in by Roberts

That "love fest" took place a few days PRIOR the fraudulent coronation!

Weird, because you are right, his one “throwaway line” is provably false, just as Obama’s claim is provably false.

But his main point is correct, there was really no reason Obama shouldn’t be allowed to attack a Supreme court ruling he disagrees with, and there’s no problem with a judge shaking his head and mouthing disagreement.

Of course, the left thinks it treasonable for a judge to express discontent during a Presidential speech. And frankly, the complaints that Obama shouldn’t criticize are not made in a vacuum, but are of the “he shouldn’t criticize if he can’t take a response”.

But mostly the criticism of Obama has been that he lied about the case and it’s consequences, he lied about what the court did, and he did so to attempt to get political support for a legislative “fix” to a problem not created by the ruling.

Which is kind of funny anyway. The prohibition was IN a law, and that prohibition was found unconstitutional. How will writing a new law change that? It appears Obama’s plan is to keep writing the same law over and over in the hopes that one of the justices changes his mind, or dies and is replaced by an Obama justice.

This Muckety Map of associations is very cool.

Mark Salter doesn't seem to have had any presidential campaign experience. He is an editor and book writer. One has to wonder?
