MIAMI When Jeb Bush left office four years ago, his public appearances were as scarce as bi-partisan man hugs.
He didn't want to upstage his successor in the governor's mansion nor his brother in the White House. Instead, he quietly cashed in by joining corporate boards and an elite speakers bureau, penned policy essays and gave infrequent interviews to conservative media.
But in recent months, as the Republican Party of Florida has grappled with a leadership vacuum, Bush's political profile has grown as fast as the national deficit ...

Agree...Nothing but a photo op stunt.
There seems to be different stories out there about whose idea the sign was.
I agree completely that the sign could have been used to contrast the ship’s accomplishment of its mission and America’s ongoing one.
Jeb Bush is the quickest way to ensure a 2nd term for the Magic Negro.
Go home Jeb. And stay there.
Mighty funny looking retirement, getting a major refit, a new captain and all...
I have had enough of the Bushes, thanks anyway.
According to Navy Commander Conrad Chun, it was requested by the ship's crew.
As explained by Cmdr. Conrad Chun, a Navy spokesman, "The banner was a Navy idea, the ship's idea. The idea popped up in one of the meetings aboard the ship preparing for its homecoming and thought it would be good to have a banner, 'Mission Accomplished.' The sailors then asked if the White House could get the sign made. ... The banner signified the successful completion of the ship's deployment,"

I despise completely, dynasties of every name and sort.
Yes, specially Bushes, currently; and I will fight it any way I can.
We can't afford "leaders" who fail to lead and are either ignorant, or oblivious to their constituents basic needs.
Doesn't matter if they have (D) ir (R) after their names.
As I said, different stories.
I’ve run across interviews with WH aides where they admitted they had come up with it.
READ MY LIPS...NO MORE BUSHES !!!
Only the sheeple bought into it. I'm surprised there's anyone here on FR like you who still believes it.
So what does Mitt Romney get for being their family’s loyal placeholder? < / sarcasm >
How about...NO?
Nope. "Mission Accomplished" was an inglorious stunt that backfired...even Bush admitted so click here to CNN. Shame that you castigate other "sheeple" buying into B.S. when you seem to be doing just that yourself. Whether it comes from the hard left or hard right, crapola is still just crapola.
Stay out the Bushes.
Not just now, but Hell No.
*dang fingers...*
