Good catch.
For Beck to imply this is wrong.
Shaw may have been a radical progressive, but he had one quote I hold in high regard- “If all economists were laid end to end they wouldn’t reach a conclusion.”
I think most people are having a difficult time with this, including me. It certainly feels like both parties are more alike than different. Think, Patriot Act and bail outs. I understand the 2006 Congress is more to blame than anything, but really, Republicans have stepped away from limited government in the name of crisis and control.
I must disagree. Both Bushes were “Big Government” types. They just had a different spin on what to control.
No he is not. This past summer my pastor attended a conference hosted by christian conservative republicans. He learned that there are many progressives in the republican party. After the success of the tea party movement last summer, many of the republican progressives scrambled to erase their names off the progressive list. There is even a web site for progressive republicans. Go here if you like: http://progressiverepublican.ning.com/
RINO's enable the progressives to advance their, so in effect they are just as bad. In some ways they are worse, because they mislead the voters on who they are and what they stand for.
Maybe not Chavez, but Woodrow Wilson, George H.W. Bush, and other new world order elites.
Right, I understand this sentiment, however it's not the ideology of the republican platform. Limited government is, and this is where Beck sort of goes off the reservation.
Because rino's have been in control lately we see a very skewed view of what republicans should be standing and fighting for. This is why it's important conservatives wrest back control of the party!
Your and my idea of the Patriot Act obviously differ. Think common defense against an unconventional enemy. It's necessary...and it's something most Americans do not have a clue how good it's been for the defense of this nation.
Some of the actions of some Republicans have been suspect in my eyes for a while now. When you consider how Reagan and others promoted the principles of the Constitution and led this country towards them, what we see from those like McCain and his band of 14 stands out as “progressive.” They aren’t nearly as blatant as Chavez but the steps towards it all are there.
I believe this is part of what we’re all seeing and refusing to fund the GOP for, but maybe aren’t quite identifying it as such. If I thought a third party had a chance in hell for success, I would hope it was a Constitutional Party. But since I don’t think a third part will every win, it’s the GOP but by God, am very leary of them.

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.
The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

A Landslide Mandate For Change
A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!
We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-peoples movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all peoples movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.
The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and peoples unity.
There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.
The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.
