Glenn Beck exposing progressives, your Chavez is showing
RenewAmerica ^ | 02-10-10 | Jen Shroder

Ever feel like both Republicans and Democrats are just puppets on a stage of distraction? Glenn Beck has been explaining why to millions of captivated Americans. It's the Progressive movement and it attacks the Constitution from BOTH parties. If you haven't been watching his show, you need to.

Glenn explains how Progressivism has been with us since the turn of the century. It isn't discussed in textbooks because President Woodrow Wilson and Walter Litman were part of the "Council of Foreign Relations" whose goal it was to change history as we knew it through education and the media. The movement (alive and well today) is out to replace our beloved Constitution with a philosophy that the elite should rule. Woodrow Wilson said, "Justly revered as our great Constitution is, it could be stripped off and thrown aside like a garment and the nation will still stand forth..." He said the preamble of the Constitution should never be read and the Declaration of Independence has zero relevance to any other age other than 1776.

I never heard that in school...

Academic elites hold George Bernard Shaw dearly in their hearts. Are they aware he was a Progressive that said, "I think it would be a good thing to make everybody come before a properly-appointed board, just as they might come before the income tax commissioner, and say every five years, or every seven years, just put them there, and say, "Sir, or madam, now will you be kind enough to justify your existence? If you're not producing as much as you consume or perhaps a little more, then, clearly, we cannot use the big organizations of our society for the purpose of keeping you alive ...

That's only ten years.

This disturbs me about Beck. He's lumping republicans in with progressive liberal dems and it's not TRUE! I realize some repubs are rinos, but they are not anywhere near Chevez.

For Beck to imply this is wrong.

Shaw may have been a radical progressive, but he had one quote I hold in high regard- “If all economists were laid end to end they wouldn’t reach a conclusion.”

I think most people are having a difficult time with this, including me. It certainly feels like both parties are more alike than different. Think, Patriot Act and bail outs. I understand the 2006 Congress is more to blame than anything, but really, Republicans have stepped away from limited government in the name of crisis and control.

I must disagree. Both Bushes were “Big Government” types. They just had a different spin on what to control.

No he is not. This past summer my pastor attended a conference hosted by christian conservative republicans. He learned that there are many progressives in the republican party. After the success of the tea party movement last summer, many of the republican progressives scrambled to erase their names off the progressive list. There is even a web site for progressive republicans. Go here if you like: http://progressiverepublican.ning.com/

RINO's enable the progressives to advance their, so in effect they are just as bad. In some ways they are worse, because they mislead the voters on who they are and what they stand for.

Maybe not Chavez, but Woodrow Wilson, George H.W. Bush, and other new world order elites.

Right, I understand this sentiment, however it's not the ideology of the republican platform. Limited government is, and this is where Beck sort of goes off the reservation.

Because rino's have been in control lately we see a very skewed view of what republicans should be standing and fighting for. This is why it's important conservatives wrest back control of the party!

Your and my idea of the Patriot Act obviously differ. Think common defense against an unconventional enemy. It's necessary...and it's something most Americans do not have a clue how good it's been for the defense of this nation.

Some of the actions of some Republicans have been suspect in my eyes for a while now. When you consider how Reagan and others promoted the principles of the Constitution and led this country towards them, what we see from those like McCain and his band of 14 stands out as “progressive.” They aren’t nearly as blatant as Chavez but the steps towards it all are there.

I believe this is part of what we’re all seeing and refusing to fund the GOP for, but maybe aren’t quite identifying it as such. If I thought a third party had a chance in hell for success, I would hope it was a Constitutional Party. But since I don’t think a third part will every win, it’s the GOP but by God, am very leary of them.

From the website of the Communist Party, USA...
(prior to the election)

"The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.

The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them."

After the election....

A Landslide Mandate For Change

A breakthrough election
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.
