Thanks for the clarification.
reasonable supposition = truth? OK.
When I was a kid a neighbor had a dog named frantzie...it was a yapping chihuahua.....coincidence?
The Haitian Government is barely functional. So I could understand why they wouldn’t wait for approval. I do agree that they should have submitted the paperwork at least.
It wasn’t in quotes, so that might have been the word the reporter chose to use, in order to spin the story.
Amen!! Where do they get off trying to help people?!
Giving earthquake ravaged youngsters something to eat never fed a starving child.
I find it outrageous that 2 weeks ago, it was being reported children were being taken- that hadn’t been Identified as orphans. They didn’t identify then, who was doing the taking...Yet now, they choose a ‘white Baptist’ group to demonize as ‘allegedly’ not having proper paperwork....
Send food but don’t export Haitians. The Baptists churches are making a big play for illegals. My neighbor and his family were long time members. His dad died and had been a member of the church. The church almost did not care but they have a big outreach to illegals. This is a Baptist telling me this. Catholic Church is worse and the more liberal protestant denominations are even more liberal.
They should worry more about American children. Orphans, runaways, etc. Stooges doing Obama’s bidding.
Anchore orphans who’s parents will show up later with their extended family. These church folk should send food and help American children.
“When I was a kid a neighbor had a dog named frantzie...it was a yapping chihuahua.....coincidence?”
I bet that dog pi**ed all over your leg. Good dog. You are an idiot and a stalker on FR.
Seriously. If it was confirmed that the children actually were orphans, I suppose one could properly term the kidnapping an “orphan incident”, but since nobody knows how many, if any, of these children are orphans, “kidnapping incident” would be much more accurate.
That's because it was a lot of random people, including no doubt some who were involved in child trafficking before the earthquake, not just a single large incident involving a large number of children who were brought to the border by their abductor. Most of the cases I heard about were just random snatchings and attempted snatchings from chaotic makeshift shelters. In the chaos that currently reigns down there, it was probably hard to determine who some of these people were, but they were probably mostly Haitians or others of an ethnicity that could pass for Haitians. If they were arrested, which some of them they may have been, the world media wouldn't give a crap, nor should it.
This church group was conspicously not comprised of Haitian citizens, and not in a position to escape arrest by making a presently unverifiable claim to be the "uncle" or something of the child(ren) they were attempting to take -- particularly since they were attempting to take a very large group of children who clearly weren't all related to each other. It's a pleasant fact that no government anywhere in the world can arrest US citizens without the incident drawing media attention. It's not a pleasant fact that this group of US citizens richly deserved to be arrested. Per their own spokeswoman, they hadn't made any attempt whatsoever to get permission from the Haitian government to take these children out of the country.
These are child traffickers, though some of the people in the arrested group may not have been aware that they were assisting an illegal child trafficking operation. Again per the spokeswoman, the plan was to put the children up for adoption -- despite the fact that they'd been taken out of their country of origin without any notice to that country's government, or any chance for the government to try to locate parents or relatives of the children, or any chance for parents or relatives to locate the children by contacting the government. The operators of this group were just fine with the vague word of some pastor that all these children were "brought to him by distant relatives who couldn't care for them", figuring that's plenty of justification for taking a group of children out of their native country and putting them up for adoption in other countries.
Surprising, the LDS Church, which is normally strictly law-abiding in virtually all other areas, also has a huge blind spot when it comes to illegals. They actually knowingly send illegals who are living in the US on missions, making sure to send them only to US missions, so they won't be at risk of not being able to get back into the country when their missions are over.
Yeah the Mormons are into open borders and illegals. Not a good thing.
This group has been building an orphanage in the Dominican Republic with the intention of having US Christian families adopt these children. The earthquake just made them ‘speed up’ their plans, and they rented this resort to house the children. They had every intention of these children making their way to the US.
Here is their “plan”:

Good intentions or not, this group was incredibly stupid to think that you could just come in, scoop up a bunch of kids off the street (without verifying who was who), and then believing it was okay to just cross an international border. Talk about a bad plan....
Pi** on my leg? Nope, as I recall my neighbor’s dog was a good little bitch.
Assuming they had good intentions (a big assumption, given the combination of their methods and the tremendous profit that can be made arranging adoptions to “U.S. Christian families”), this mind-bogglingly stupid stunt probably just closed off the possibility of continuing with any plan involving orphans or adoption in either Haiti or the Dominican Republic, or any place else that makes any serious effort to protect children from child traffickers.
Thank you for your reply, GovernmentShrinke. By the law, it is still kidnapping not to mention introducing illegals onto the U.S.
All have to go to jail no matter what their good intensions were. Just because they are a church group does not get them off the hook.
In the real world, it is called “kidnapping.” Period. I hope they go to jail for a long time.
Like it or not they were running a kidnapping ring. Because they are a church group, does not make them above the law.
