We should know the pattern by now. Barack Obama has a way of seeming to let things drift, even dangerously so. His supporters start to panic; his enemies start to sniff confidence like a junkie out of a brown paper bag. Scott Browns remarkable victory in Massachusetts provided the glue, and the Republicans and the media almost passed out with the rush and still the president remained somewhat aloof; distant.
As health insurance reform looked dead in the water, Obama seemed equally inert. The mood on the liberal blogs went from depression to panic. His presidency was over! Liberalisms revival was a mirage! The atmosphere and I wasnt entirely immune to it myself reminded me of the autumn of 2007, as Obama remained mired 30 points behind Hillary Clinton and seemed to be drifting back into obscurity; or when in 2008, after his stunning victory in Iowa, he lost New Hampshire and allowed the race to drag on for months. Or how healthcare reform seemed massacred by last summers town hall meetings, or how he chose to stay removed from the Iranian revolution last June.
And then theres the comeback. This time, the setup was almost perfect: an already scheduled grand political speech playing to all of Obamas strengths. And yet what was striking about the speech was how unlike Obama it was. It was conversational, self-deprecating, sometimes funny, intermittently aggressive, occasionally moving, conciliatory in tone. But what struck me most was not the delivery but the reception. Ive listened to dozens of state-of-the-union speeches and I have rarely heard such a quiet talk meet such silence. It was the kind of silence that greets the truth.

It was the kind of silence that greets the truth.
No Andrew, it was the kind of silence that KNOWS the truth,
and hears lies.
Sure he is. He turns my stomach on a regular basis.
The socialists are delusional. Hopefully, we can use their illness against them to maximal effect.
The apologists for the Left are not fooling anyone but themselves. They think Obama has still “got it”. I say no. I say Obama’s magic has faded and he is now just a vapid, lying politician with very few friends and fewer accomplishments.
He’s right (more or less).
I see and read a lot that suggests that Øbozo is toast. Those who believe that will be just as disappointed as the dhimmis were on Taxachussetts. The battle is joined but we have a LONG way to go.
“Centrists” are as well.
Andrew lost it about the same time as gay marriage was helping to derail the Kerry candidacy, he was also started taking hormone replacement shots (steroids) as part of his HIV therapy. He basically came home to the queer world.
Since then he’s gone hard left and abandoned any semblance of analysis or balance in his writing, it’s all emotion, all the time and like others of his ilk he sees everything out of his bungholio.
Why he’s so uncritically, fanatically devoted to Obama is beyond me, cause he’s dreaming if he thinks Barry is going to spend any political capital on gay causes.
That’s what I said when my team went down 35-to-zip in the fourth quarter. “Now we’ve got ‘em where we want ‘em!”
It’s easy to scoff at this. But in 1995, no one thought that Clinton would make a comeback. We all know how that turned out.
Take the knee pads off Andrew. Geez this Obumble is not the second comeing.
Another comeback kid? I guess we’ll see.
Yeah but Clinton had enough brains to veer to the center. 0bama isn’t capable of seeing past his left nostril.

I pray it’s to Chicago!
Sullivan is just hacked off that he was left out of that Chicago get-together with Larry Sinclair.
I am old enough to have known Ronald Reagan as President right on from 1980 up to 1989, and I can say, beyond peradventure, that Barack Hussein Obama is no Ronald Reagan, period. End of discussion.
Some tell Sully that gay marriage is dead. Obozo can’t deliver.
