W.H.: GOP accountability coming
Politico44 ^ | 01/29/10 | MIKE ALLEN

From POLITICO Playbook -- The White House plans to step up efforts to hold Republicans accountable for cooperation. Said communications director Dan Pfeiffer: "There are 59 Democratic Senators now. They're at 41, the Republicans now have a responsibility to govern. In Year 1, they sat on the sidelines and were willing to leave governing in this challenging time to Democrats alone. They have a responsibility now to partner with the President, to try to get things done for the American people. With 59 Senators, it is mathematically impossible for Democrats to do everything on their own. So Republicans can either try to block all progress on all issues at this critical time -- or they can step

Now the Republicans can propose new bills and amendments as before, but the Dems will be called on the carpet when (not if) they summarily dismiss them. We weren’t watching before but we certainly are now!

Of course, the Republicans had better hew to the conservative line. We’re watching them now, too!

the Obama admin and the Dims continue to push this false choice...either agree and vote with us, or be partisan obstructionists.

The GOP needs to stand tall and scream from the rooftops: We Are Voting on Principal! We'll NOT Vote for Any Bill That Increases the Size/Scope of Government and/or Increases Taxes or the Deficit!

They really are this stupid. This is not going to work.

I talked to a number of "independent" voters who lean Democrat. They all voted for O. They are totally fed up with his blame game.

They want action. They want the economy to start moving and unemployement to go way down. They do NOT want to hear anymore of this "it's Bush's fault" BS.

Obama overplayed his Blame Bush Card so now it's on to trying to blame the Republicans again. The GOP is finally doing what the people want it to do, make it difficult for the Socialist to pass anything.

Don’t count on those rubber stamps.... RINO’s like Snowe, Collins, Voinovich are definately problematic!

The reps should be held accountable... accountable to stop the Obama-led decline to socialism!!

Recently, during Obama’s “lectures” this song from the 70’s keeps coming to mind:

He’s truly losing it.

The Republicans can see the results of the Massachusetts election even if some RATS are still in denial. Rinos are going to lay low this year.

I wasn’t very clear - I meant rubber stamps issued by the WH since they are the ones demanding that the GOP work with them.

Sixty wolves and 40 sheep can’t decide between lamb chops or leg of lamb for dinner because the sheep are obstructing progress.

I agree, its damn well time the republicans got around to helping to run this country.....so the first thing I’d like to see them do is to put forward articles of impeachment on this president. Moreover, investigations (private investigations now, until we gain the majority and to preserve evidence of criminality) should be in order, particularly insofar as the 787 billion dollar porkulus bill is concerned. These brazen criminals have surely left paper trails of many quid pro quos. The republicans better set about prosecuting these criminals, or one day their will be a mob at the capital with pitchforks and torches that will do it for them. The republicans had better get with the program or that mob will be there for them as well.

Gee, if he and his party would propose ONE DAMN THING that doesn’t make the situation WORSE, we might get on board with them. In the meantime, it’s our DUTY to obstruct that which DESTRUCTS the stability and liberties of America.

This megalomaniac had SLAPPED DOWN every single hand outreached to him in the spirit of cooperation. WE are the ones that represent the majority sentiment in this country. No amount of jockeying with polling demos, partisan media fabrications or just plain denying the reality and looking the other way is going to change that fact.

Your only transparency is the clarity of your lies, and We The People are not buying what you’re trying to sell.
