I'll never forget the folks on the
Original Thread who couldn't wait to throw this kid under the bus... after everything he risked his neck to do.
If you really want to know why we lose, that thread is a perfect example.

I agree. It’s not just liberals who should have to apologize to O’Keefe. Many were willing to toss him aside without giving O’Keefe time to defend himself.

There is certainly no shortage of candidates willing to form a circular firing squad around here.

If you really want to know why we lose, that thread is a perfect example. And there are many, MANY more examples like that thread!!!
Thank you for pointing this out.

It was the same in the Scott Brown threads where multiple Freepers were citing it a lost cause due to potential vote fraud or that Scott Brown was not a true conservative and should not get any support.
It is Freepers like these that need to grow up and stop acting like whipped dogs. When the opportunity to strike at the heart of liberalism presents itself, we should be united in our efforts to win.
Instead, we fall on each other like a pack of jackals.

OldDeckHand, BuckEyeTexan, and a number of others need to come on here and apologize for their immediate condemnation.
The posts are there. NO excuse to hide or say, ‘but, but, but...’
But, most folks on that thread said they wanted to wait for confirmation.

I agree with you. EVERYONE is so used to believing what they hear from the mainstream media, us included, it is hard to not take what we hear/read/see as anything other than correct. We always lose because we can’t get past this cultural norm. We must get past it. Free Republic is the best at getting past it, but we have to do better by getting others to buy into the fact that the media lies. The government lies. Our culture is highly damaged. We will be fortunate if we survive this crisis of culture. To survive we must all question, push, doubt, demand proof, etc. The fact that the President of the United States could give a State of the Union address so filled with lies (the biggest was the insult to the Supreme Court) is strong evidence of how far we have sunk. All of us need to take a personal pledge to try to fix this problem in each of our own networks. I often ask a “pronouncer” of some fact what is the source of their information. No matter what they say (other than eye-witness) I respond with “so you trust that source? Why?” I don’t argue, I just keep asking questions. Usually I get a “wow, I never thought about it like that.”

Agreed. Please note that in that thread I noted the vagueness of the charges.

hey, I apologize wholeheartedly to all FReepers and to James O'Keefe if I can reach him with an email, for my first comment on that thread..... which certainly gave far too much credence to the affidavit from the FBI agent.
"[although I did say right at the start " post #269 **IF** the affidavit from the FBI agent is roughly accurate...." (emphasis added now).... that's a bigger "IF" than I realized in the first moments....]
However, from the first instant I gave no credence whatsoever to the Mediascum -- my initial failing was (I think) to believe that an FBI agent, even a lib, would not be stooopid enough to make some of the statements made in that affidavit if they would easily be proved so irrelevant and/or ridiculous. Now it certainly appears much more likely that it is that FBI agent and any other US officials involved who went "over the top" since there is nothing emerging so far that seems to be evidence of a crime.
now that FBI agent, and other officials on the scence, certainly deserve much scrutiny for allowing this incident to escalate beyond what may have been reasonable...... release the video!!
