This is why Obama's personal polls remain relatively high while his policy polls are taking a dive. Eventually people will start to understand you can actually voice disapproval of blacks-personally and professionally. The best way to fight this stuff is to show how ridiculous it is. Simply saying something like "You know, racism is deeply imbedded in the way people relate to each other ALL OVER THE WORLD. It has been around all of recorded history. Isn't it nice that we live in a culture that can openly admit 'yes, we did this and it was wrong, and I want to go on record that my goal is to evaluate someone by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.' It makes me so proud to know that while not perfect, this is still the place where black Africans, Brown hispanics, and people of every color come to find freedom and opportunity. That they leave their own countries and culture where they are the dominant race to come here to start at the bottom as a minority because they know life is better." I never had a gun pointed at me by anyone other than a white person, but I have had the unpleasant experience of dealing with white trash who did just that.
No one in their right mind would argue that ghetto culture is a model for society, but I know and associate with many fine black folk who I would trust more than some of the white folks I know.
I think our goal should be to ACKNOWLEDGE THAT BLACK AND WHITE CULTURE IS DIFFERENT. They don’t want to live in our world, but they don’t want to be shut out from the privileges and benefits (usually money and opportunity), either. That is a bumpy road to walk, and missteps on both sides are going to be unavoidable.
Neither prejudice nor this silly “reverse-racism” like in the article are not helpful.
It would be interesting and enlightening to go and ask blacks who are Conservatives and in the G.O.P. and ask them of their thoughts , what party is more racist ?
On the contrary. It’s quite the opposite. Children from an interracial couple always get lighter NOT darker so you’re looking at the sunset of the black race.
