January 28, 2010 3:30 PM
Meghan McCain ABC News on Campus reporter Miles Doran blogs:
While many were watching President Obamas State of the Union address on television Wednesday night, about 400 people gathered at the University of Florida in Gainesville to hear Meghan McCain, daughter of senator and 2008 presidential candidate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), speak and take questions.
The 25 year-old, self-described progressive Republican and supporter of marriage equality called for a return of civility to politics.
"I am asking the Republican party to stop being so stubborn and closed-minded," she said. "This party will never be able to lead effectively or be able to inspire a nation until they accept people like me."
For about 45 minutes she took questions from the audience.

And that would be... Paris Hilton and Nicole Richey? Yup. The fate of the Republic rests with those 3.

Anybody else think she’s doing to her dad’s political career what her dad did to the Republican party?

IMHO, Meghan McCain is pure evil.
She knows that she and her father are despised by conservatives.
This “endorsement” is intended as a poison pill, or so she thinks; an attempt to influence conservatives to raise an eyebrow at Sarah. It’s simply Meghan chanelling her father, thusly:
“IF I CAN’T BE PRESIDENT, THEN NO REPUBLICAN CAN!!!”
(Grrr!!! Foam!!! Scream!!!)
;^)

I don't know, except that she obviously wanted to do so and apparently prefers McCain against J.D. Hayworth.

I haven't given it much thought and tend to focus on negatives while regarding any politician (saves time). Here's a tidbit that I noticed along with her known policy to fill public school funds in Alaska in advance.
Facts about Sarah Palin (my title) Via Email | Unknown | Dewie Whetsell, Alaskan Fisherman
"
2 - Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So, she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES". Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them "don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar."
And it's very important to some people in Colorado Springs to get her elected. That's about all that I know. Being more old fashioned and conservative than most, I prefer to notice voting records instead of rhetoric and celebrity issues and don't have much interest in contemporary politics. ...haven't watched television at all for about eight years and didn't watch it much during the '90s.

Here’s my idea...everytime you see Meghan McCain on TV, open your checkbook and send $50 to JD Hayworth. I can’t tell you how much I despise this bimbo...and I don’t use the term bimbo lightly. I don’t blame her, because she’s a bimbo and making a crapload of money. What I don’t understand is how a father could allow his daughter to be used so blatantly against him. It’s disgusting.

I am asking the Republican party to stop being so stubborn and closed-minded,The Republican Party could ask the same of people like Miss McCain. She wants her viewpoint accepted unconditionally yet she calls those who merely disagree with her 'Neanderthals' and other insulting slurs.
This girl truly does have a 'me first' mentality.
