In State of the Union, President Suggests Court Opened Doors to Foreign Intervention in American Elections
President Obama is taking aim at the Supreme Court's recent decision to roll back limits on corporate spending on political campaigns in his State of the Union address this evening, saying the high court "reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests - including foreign companies - to spend without limit in our elections."
"Well I dont think American elections should be bankrolled by Americas most powerful interests, and worse, by foreign entities," the president will say, according to excerpts provided by the White House. "They should be decided by the American people, and thats why Im urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong."
According to CBS News Chief Legal Correspondent Jan Crawford, "the rebuke of the Court is extraordinary." Many of the justices involved in the 5-4 decision are expected to be in the House chamber to hear Mr. Obama's speech. The president is expected to focus largely on jobs and the economy as he tries to reframe his presidency in the wake of electoral and legislative setbacks for his party in recent weeks. |
It was just getting funny too.
In the last week, this asshole has taken on two of the most powerful institutions in the nation. Big Banks and now the SCOTUS.
He WILL NOT serve out his term. Just a matter of time and they will root his ass out of office.
Yeah, like that could ever happen!
This was an extraordinary breech of protocol by Obama, and puts lie to everything he says about cultivating a civil tone. He is the lowest of partisan hacks and needs to be called out for this. Every Republican needs to get on the interviews and airwaves with an unified message demanding a personal and public apoligy for this. Never before has a President stooped so low during a State of the Union.
Why is he crying anyway? How many millions , hundreds of millions of small donations on credit cards came to his campaign coffers.. virtually untrackable. How slick is that?
He got the seat, didn’t he? That was the end game.
Whether he could govern was a whole other question.
Mostly he’s lying about what the Supreme Court said and did.
2 things, 1) Obama said the Senate stopped a commission he wanted, well screw that I’ll issue an Executive Order. and 2) to the SC, with all due respect to the Separation of Powers, screw that too.
And Justice Alito called him a liar...
More proof positive that the Biz 0 (not O) is one classless dude!
Since I refused to listen to the Obummer, my husband filled me in on one detail. He said that Obummer wants to forgive the student loans of people who go into “public service”. (Cushy government job)
Gee! Down on the “Animal Farm” the government works live school loan-free in the farmer's house. The rest of us get the barn while we pay off the student loans.
OINK!
Not only is the SCOTUS an unwise enemy, but to decry being bankrolled by foreign entities is an unwise strategy for the Kenyan candidate.
Even Juan Williams said it made him uncomfortable, and he’s an Obama cheerleader.
You mean the POTUS isn’t bright? Not only is he not bright, he does not have a clue. He may actually be the dumbest human being alive with the exception of VP, Joe Biden. Worst SOTU I have heard in numerous years on thios earth. This guy is braindead!!!
Yes, Alito sure did, and you can clearly see the head shake and read his lips. “Simply not true”
LOL. Here she is the recent opening of
a new law library in Maryland.
Yeah, this could get really bad. I mean, I can imagine a candidate whose American citizenship is dubious, being sponsored and funded with money laundered from, for example, George Soros and the Saudis ... a communist, crypto-Muslim, anti-American mole in the White House, doing the bidding of our enemies.
Don't laugh! It could happen.
If memory serves me...ONE Justice ALWAYS remains absent....in case the chamber (and occupants) is destroyed!
Flag. Great graphic.
