Americans elected a visionary, not a fighter
The Washington Post ^ | January 27, 2010 | Kathleen Parker

In the run-up to Barack Obama's State of the Union address, the so-called narrative question is whether the president will be -- pick a curtain -- party leader, president, conciliator or fighter.

Depending on whose head is talking, the president's problem is that he's been: (a) playing party politics and not leading the nation; (b) stuck in community-organizer mode, seeking consensus rather than fighting.

So agitated have SOTU speculators become that some have resorted to counting the number of times Obama uses the word "fight," or some variation thereof, in recent gatherings and speeches.

At a Monday morning meeting of his Middle Class Task Force, Obama said: "We're going to keep fighting to renew the American dream." Later, he said, "Joe [Biden] and I are going to keep on fighting for what matters to middle-class families." By one reporter's count, Obama used the word "fight" or "fighting" four times in a seven-minute speech.

In Ohio last week, according to another tabulator, the president used fighting words more than 20 times: "I won't stop fighting to open up government," he said. "I won't stop fighting to bring back jobs here." And, "I'll never stop fighting."

The community organizer has fallen in the esteem of the elite classes. He can't even organize America!

KP has lost her grip on reality.

People do not count the uses of “fight” they count the number of times he says “I”, “I’ve”, “I’m”, “Me” and “My”.

Some people actually thought that Kathleen Parker was a Conservative, then along came Sarah Palin.

Listen, Kathleen, Mr. Obama couldn’t close an umbrella.

The ONLY thing he can do is spend our money. That’s it.
Case closed.

Statement: "Americans elected a visionary, not a fighter"

Response: No. Neither a visionary nor a fighter but a clown.

He isn’t a prophet or the messiah either.

He’s a neophyte who should never have considered running for office.

I realize the dems wanted Edwards until all heck broke loose with his disclosures, but to use Obama to further their goals was a vicious crime perpetrated on the country.

To paraphrase her, regaining trust is Parker’s real challenge, and being true to her own character is fundamental to that end. Americans know a faux conservative when they see one.
She seems to be connected at the umbilicus to both
Obama and Romney. Not conservative. Not Republican.

>>Americans elected a visionary, not a fighter<<

.
Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot are also considered “vissionaries” by their supporters.

Jack Sqaut as a “visionary”?

Is that what progressives now call people who seek to “fundamentally change America”?

Lulz!? =.=

Americans elected a visionary, not a fighter

America elected an ideologue, a lightweight and a poser. He's a combination of '60s radicalism, Chicago thuggery and Reverend Wright's racist views.

“Visualize Dante’s Inferno and wonder where the current crop will end up.”

Heh...the only problem is that all of us will face the hell that’s broken loose in the US from Zero’s ineptitude before the rest of his minions meet their maker!

I’m not so sure those who believe going to ground and just planning on their own personal survival are so wrong. We may just face a situation whereby one will need to vote with one’s feet.

I did, for one. Trying now to decide exactly how much in-house reserve I can build up, figuring that it could well be every man for himself pretty soon.

He got to be President for four reasons: 1) the bottom dropped out of the markets in September 2008, 2) People were tired of Bush, 3) He ran as Mr. Cool and 4) The MSM covered up for him. Absent those factors he would still be the Barack Obama from Illinois.

Items 2, 3, and 4 are all variations on the same theme: the leftist bias of the state-run media.
