If Scott Brown has kept President Obama up at night, there could be more sleepless nights at the White House thanks to a new poll that ranks the senator-elect as presidential timber.
A Newsmax/Zogby poll shows the Massachusetts Republican within striking range of Obama in a hypothetical presidential matchup.
The poll shows the pair statistically deadlocked if the presidential election were held today.

That is not a pretty picture.
I don’t think that was the point of the poll. It isn’t would Brown won, it is how far zero has fallen. After all Huckabee polled as wining too, and I don’t favor his running either, but put him against zero, it would be Huckabee hands down.
I do not beat her today.
You may want to go off by yourself and put your invisible hand to good use.
If Scott Brown, imagine what Tim Pawlenty could do.
He’s certainly overemployed at the moment, and has been for quite some time. The guy has never really done anything, except be a BSer.
If Brown runs for Pres. in 2012, he’ll have as much, if not more, experience than Obama did in 2008.
I don’t think that is the objective of the poll, but whatever.
Brown has been a state Senator for years, just to be clear. He has a record there, and unlike zero it is accessible, and unlike zero, he has been there for years, not one term with half of it spent running for US Senate.
Brown is a good guy but for people to say he is presidential is the same hero worship that got Obama elected.
No matter whether I like the guy or not, its not a good reason to elect a leader. People were naming schools and streets after Obama and I said that was usually reserved for people that have actually DONE SOMETHING. Obama did nothing and Brown has done nothing. I like the direction that Brown is going, I like his policies, but basically; he won an election... thats all he's done. If I say I want him to be president, then I am no better than the dumb people that I blindly worshiped Obama for no good reason.
I have nothing against Scott Brown, but he is more McCain than Palin, so bound to disappoint conservatives.
Also, he looks like a guy with a big ego and might succumb to the soft soap the Dems in DC will slather on.
I am mindful of the fact that he didn’t say he wanted to kill health care legislation, just this version.
Not true that Brown has done nothing. BUT this is NOT his poll, for heaven sake, it is the papers. No one is suggesting he run, nor would he. And I really don’t think people vote in a poll like this for any reason but to scare Demonrats, and to show how neutered zero has become.
He hasn’t even been sworn in yet, has he? Let’s see what he does before we make him our nominee 3 years out.
Palin’s pushing hard for McCain. She is great.
Don’t know about that but I was floored by his victory speech. He gets ‘it.’ In actual delivery, he surpassed Palin. We’ll definitely hear more from Scott Brown in the near future.
That’s ok - he can write the Great American Fiction full of betrayals and lies and bad guys (Republicans and particularly those named Bush, who pals around with terrorists).
Michelle can write a book on “How to dress on the skinny.”
LOLOLOLOLOL
Rubbing it in the faces of the democrat machine in Massachusetts!
LOL... great post, Sam.
Obama is sinking in the polls because of Obama. It’s reached a point that even CNN — which likes to tout itself as the moderate news voice — can’t even keep Obama afloat anymore. He’s underwater in their poll too.
Yeh, doesn’t everybody have a friend like that... like a Kramer. Except this guy is like a cross between Kramer and Dr. Evil.
I don’t want to imagine what Pawlenty would do, what I do know is he’s fallen for the Global Warming Hoax like all these RINO’s like McCain, he also wants to subsidize corn growers to produce ethanol. He’s soft on illegal immigration and crime.
