ACORN gotcha man among four arrested for attempting to bug Mary Landrieu's office

The FBI, alleging a plot to wiretap Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu's office in downtown New Orleans, arrested four people Monday, including James O'Keefe, a conservative filmmaker whose undercover videos at ACORN field offices severely damaged the advocacy group's credibility.

FBI Special Agent Steven Rayes alleges that O'Keefe aided and abetted two others, Joseph Basel and Robert Flanagan, who dressed up as employees of a telephone company and attempted to interfere with the office's telephone system.

A fourth person, Stan Dai, was accused of aiding and abetting Basel and Flanagan. All four were charged with entering fedral property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony.

A witness from Landrieu's staff said O'Keefe was present in the office and claimed to be "waiting for someone to arrive."

No matter what. O'keefe is a dope for being anywhere near that place. If he is guilty of this stupid attempt at a Jason Bourne move then he is felony stupid.

I think that Hannah Giles is the brains in that outfit, and it appears that she wasn't involved.

Lesson: Never leave home without your brains.

Thanks for the link. The article did not specify whether they were released on bond or just released. Strange. The earlier article mentioned bail being set at 10k each, which would seem very low for federal charges of conspiracy to wiretap, and could be a clue to the strength of the case.

Interesting comment by O’Keefe... “veritas” as in, Veritas vos liberabit.

Wonder how this is going to play out.

The first nationally televised (CNNHD only) public execution, would be my guess.

Neither is murder or theft ... in the right venue and
under the right circumstances.

No harm — no foul. We have real criminal activity with the enemy underwear bomber who tried to kill 278 people. Don’t waste time on this crap. What a joke.

re: pimp outfit

well he already knew that Lanrieu is a whore

but this does not seem like the most sensible way to explore the subject

maybe someone should offer her a large sum of money to sell out her brother’s mayoral campaign

I have a feeling that O’Keefe is going to turn this one around on them in discovery and reveal something that will turn everything upside down. “VERITAS” as O’Keefe said versus the lies the Democrats are about...

Wasn’t necessary, everyone knew about the $300 million Louisiana Purchase. She bragged about it!! Dumb and illegal move if they tampered with the phones.

Right... Just like the Martins tapping cell phones in Florida got caught...

See post 77.

I believe those two union hacks recorded that call just as much as I believe in the Easter Bunny.

But Reno (on orders from the White House) cut them slack. Holder is going to nail these guys to the wall.

This is a dumb ass stunt and unless they have something up their sleeve, they will do hard time.

Agreed. I think the Democrats are more scared about this one than the Republicans are. We need to wait until all the information comes out on this one.
