The Democrats who control the Senate didn't like the word bipartisan.

But the plan garnered just 53 votes in the 100-member Senate, not enough because 60 votes were required.
Who voted yes and who voted no?

You mean the Republicans actually avoided the tax increase trap ZERO laid for them?
So now why don’t they prevent approving the huge debt increase ZERO wants. No increase in debt ceiling, no more out of control spending. And then we can make real cuts instead of ZEROs pretend cuts.
I bet ZERO blows a gasket.

George W called Harry Reid & Co. and told them to say no, or else. Bush’s fault.

Actually, it is Bush’s fault.
GW was the spendingest, bleeding heart Globalist, amnesty loving President, since Carter.
I have no love for Bush.
He did a lot that damaged the economy. Not as bad as Bammer of course, but he was headed the same direction.

Yup. He is not limboing under the bar, he just got rid of the bar altogether.
And then we get to watch BamBam Clinton and Bush laughing and doing kissy-face on the White House lawn.
And why not. They are all birds of a feather anyway.

That's a bunch of liberal media lies.
Republicans never had a filibuster proof Senate (60 or more votes) and so could pass nothing almost nothing without the approval of the Democrat party.
In fact the big government machine progressives/democrats/marxists built in the last 120 years remained practically the same size as when Republicans and Bush “took control” they never had. The number of government employees didn't increase. 90% of the budget, the government machine, has mandatory spending and spending increases. Did Bush create social security, the government schools, medicare, HHS, HUD, FEC,FDA, EPA, dept of Energy, Dept of transportation and the thousands of other government agencies? NO. The democrats/progressives/Marxists created almost all those agencies we now have .And Democrats did it when the MSM had a monopoly and there was no internet so that the public didn't know what was going on and how bad big government/socialism is.
You so called conservatives have been brainwashed by liberal media lies and Michael Savage to turn against the GOP and so leaving the way clear for Democrats to pass their socialist agenda which thankfully now since democrats NOW don't have 60 votes now too bad for you is now in stopped. The "spending increases" when Republicans had a bare majority were in actuality inflation, military spending increases, spending increases for 2 wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and population growth. the media used dollar numbers without taking into account inflation , military spending etc to demonize Bush and the GOP as being big government advocates and so to turn unintelligent "conservatives" against the GOP. I guess you are against the Afghanistan and Iraq wars (spending increases)? If so then you are no conservative. Sure you can point to a few bills or agencies here or there but that is a very small percentage of the budget and that didn't increase government size overall.
