CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte city council voted against discussing whether to release to the public the personnel file of a former police officer accused of several sexual assaults. Marcus Jackson is charged with multiple sex crimes that investigators said happened while he was on-duty as a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer. Last month, the city council voted six-to-five in favor of looking at Jacksons personnel file for themselves to help decide if it should be released. But as Monday nights meeting started, seven council members voted against even discussing the file, so as it stands the file will not be released. Councilman Warren Cooksey voted against seeing it. He said they have enough information about Jackson. "Creating a precedent about delving into a personnel file is not necessary at this time," Cooksey said, a Republican from District 7. The council had the option of hearing from Police Chief Rodney Monroe and looking at the file, but they did neither and decided not to make it public. Jackson is accused of multiple sex crimes while on duty as an officer. Eyewitness News learned he was suspended at least twice during his time on the force. Council members who voted to see the personnel file said it's a matter of public trust.

We have the Unions to thank when we can’t get rid of these LOSERS that are in important positions of public trust.
Just goes to prove that government employees may work for us but their emplyment record isn’t our business...though ours is to them.
A shrink testified in court that most cops are simply insecure schoolyard bullies.
Their police chief has problems too. He obtained a college degree under suspicious circumstances. Apparently he never completed the required courses but somehow the degree was awarded. When the chief is a scammer what can you expect.
First they need to get rid of Rodney Monroe, the police chief. He lied about his credentials to obtain his job. One more lie, one more cover-up, no big deal.
