Consider the pre-election giveaway to the labor unions. Negotiators agreed to exempt union contracts until 2018 from the tax on so-called Cadillac health-insurance plans. That backroom bargain not only outraged the voters, it also violated the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution, requiring the federal government to extend equal protection of the laws to all U.S. persons. Of course, not all voters understood the constitutional nuances, but they sensed that something was very wrong; and they reacted.
I have been disturbed by the socialists for years, ever since I learned many members of Congress 'openly' joined the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America). Several years ago, the names were published on the DSA site. (since removed of course) Please post any info you have, many of you have been on this issue for many years, & if we can store it all on one thread, we have our FreeRepublic Warehouse on the enemies of the state. How DO we combat this, when it's coming at us from every angle? When the people have been asleep for decades. Please post anything you have found or accumulated. Also choose a dictator these people follow, of particular interest, those in D.C. who have been quoted with their adulation of one.

Its perhaps the most jarring bit of irony in the entire health-care debate. The House Rules committee is meeting as I write this post, attempting to put together the package that will govern the reconciliation bill to a floor vote sometime tomorrow. As Byron York reports, though, the Democrats on the committee seem to have hit a problem with the rules:

Not gonna bless stupak. He knew from the gitgo the abortion language would be kicked out by the senate, but he voted for this monster anyway. Remember, it only passed by ONE vote. If any of these pr!cks were serious about anything, we wouldn’t be in this mess to begin with. A pox on ALL of them!
By the way. My GOD rule was in effect today. It goes like this.
If you try to do something and something totally unforeseen happens out of the blue, that is strike one.
If you figure out a way to solve that problem and something totally unforeseen happens again, pay attention. Someone is trying to tell you something.
If you figure out how to solve the second problem and something unforseen happens yet again, it’s GOD saying, “NOPE!”
And I pay attention to that because every single time I have gone ahead afer the third warning, there has been trouble up the wazoo.
That is when I turned us around and headed home.
May He bless you too my friend

Hatch to House Dems: If you believe well pass your reconciliation bill as written

Not only does the most gentlemanly of Senators blast his lower-chamber colleagues for their belief that reconciliation will sail through the upper chamber unchanged, Orrin Hatch warns Senate Democrats that an attempt to push it through will mean war. If they believe Republicans will just sit back and allow Democrats to run roughshod over the minority, they will find themselves in a battle theyll regret for the rest of their lives:
Republican Senator Orrin Hatch said Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are nuts to think tomorrows vote on health-care legislation will resolve the issue.
If the measure passes, Senate Republicans have enough votes on at least two points of order to alter the measure and send it back to the House for a second round of votes, Hatch said in an interview on Bloomberg Televisions Political Capital with Al Hunt, airing this weekend.
If those people think theyre only going to vote on this once, theyre nuts, Hatch said as House Democratic leaders rounded up support before the scheduled vote on President Barack Obamas top domestic priority.
The senator from Utah also said the approach Democrats are using to pass the legislation in the House may be unconstitutional because the House and Senate arent voting on exactly the same language.
Ive interviewed Hatch a few times, and this is about as harsh as he ever gets. He generally likes to work towards consensus, not confrontation; fire and brimstone arent part of his nature. So when Hatch says this, it means something:
