Democrats need to learn the blame game
Financial Times ^ | January 25, 2010 | James Carville

The most exciting spectator sport in American politics is in full swing in Washington following last Tuesday's once-unthinkable election result. And it is just beginning.

Contrary to what you might think, I am a proud member of the pro finger-pointing caucus. It wasn't too long ago that my longtime colleague Paul Begala and I urged our friends on the other side of the aisle to engage early and often in the blame game.

Now it is the Democrats' turn. Point fingers is exactly what Democrats have done following Republican Scott Brown's surprise victory in Massachusetts, and the subsequent setback for healthcare reform.

James Carville : Democrats need to learn the blame game

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.
All 0bama has done since being elected is scream “It's Bush's fault”, over and over again.
The result?
The Democrats have lost NJ, VA and now the US senate seat in Massachusetts.

The leftists and elites running the dems and the country are experiencing exactly what it’s like to learn through experience that your entire world view is completely wrong and now everybody in the world knows it.

Catastrophic failure will do that to you. How they handle it is funny/painful/pathetic to watch. I hope it implodes quickly so we can get the country back on the right track soon.

I couldn't decide whether this article was Carville's lame attempt at irony, or his usual effort at spinning.

I decided it was his usual dissolution of the truth.

Democrats have played the blame game since the Republicans pushed them to pass the Civil Rights Act. Ever since then, they have always tried to blame conservatives for any problem or shortfall that comes to minorities or impoverished (while at the same time milking unions, wealthy donors, and chuches for any dime they could get).

Learn the blame game? Hardly. The democrats are long-standing masters at it.

Carville is an assclown. That is THE ONLY THING the Democrats know.

The Democrats have lost NJ, VA and now the US senate seat in Massachusetts.

And as strange as it sounds, in the Chris Wallace interview with Bob Gibbs yesterday, Gibbs had the temerity to suggest that the message sent by the voters in the Mass election was that they were supportive of Obama's agenda (he cited a WaPo poll IIRC).

Gibbs, as he often does, spoke quite sincerely about this matter...I think he genuinely believes it.

There is something serious wrong (as in mentally ill) with these people.

“So as the healthcare bill sat in committee for months waiting for a Republican senator to support it, momentum began to build for reform’s opponents. “Tea parties” popped up in the unlikeliest places, and Republican obstructionism set in firmly.”

Talk about historical revisionism!. The House passed its version of the bill in July and the tea party protests got a full head of steam in August to ensure Senators got the message not to endorse the House’s far-left approach. The Republicans DID sensibly sit on the sidelines watching the Senate Democratic caucus twist itself in knots for months trying to achieve consensus. The Democrats had the votes to pass this IF they themselves could have achieved unity. Thankfully, there were enough principled opponents to public funding of abortion and to the odious vote-buying being used to jam the bill through Congress that it slowed the process down enough for Scott Brown to win his victory.

These people are delusional.
As for this so-called “poll” from the WaPo, I'll take it with the same belief that I took the Boston Globe “poll” that had Coakley winning by a massive 15% (she lost by 5%), a poll that went counter to every other single poll out there at the time.

Some FR posters usually comment “Bush’s fault” to everything. And, I will be darned if the dems aren’t still saying, “Bush’s fault.” Dem’s are the Stooges at work as plumbers.
