I have checked almost every news outlet on the web - to include Google News, Yahoo Answers, CBS.com, FOX.com, even NFL.com itself - and NONE of them will tell me the true starting times of the games today.
I know that they do this to try to maximize their Nielsen ratings for as long a time period as possible, but the level of deceit, duplicity, disingenousness and societal thought control in this unified front of media dishonesty is absolutely infuriating to me.
For instance, look at this screen capture from nfl.com:
Notice anything missing?Like the starting times of today's games?!?
From massive googling, I am led to believe that CBS's coverage of the Jets-Colts game today MIGHT start at around 3:00PM, but if I tune in at 3:00PM [or set the DVR to start recording at 3:00PM], then will the kickoff be within the next five minutes, or am I going to be subjected to 45 minutes of mindless, idiotic, sychophantic blather, and crass, disgusting, materialistic commercials before the players actually take the field?
God, this is infuriating.
It's in opposition to everything that Game Theory would teach us ought to happen in these circumstances - there ought to arise [even if only randomly] some maverick news outlet which bucks the tide and tells us the actual time of the kickoff.
Or maybe no one knows the actual time? Maybe the NFL itself doesn't know whether they'll have the kickoff at 3:05PM, or at 3:45PM?
Or, God forbid, at 4:15PM?!?
I feel like pulling my hair out.
They’re already over. Did you miss them? If so, you missed two of the greatest games ever played, in any sport.
You really believe that a company that takes taxpayer money to built its venues and that employs people with long (and growing) criminal rap sheets cares about something like being honest about scheduling?
According to my Direct TV menu, the AFC Championship Game starts at 3:00 PM on CBS and the NFC Championship Game starts at 6:30 on Fox.
FYI a typical NFL game is scheduled to last about 3 hours. So take the time they list as the game ENDING, and tune in about 3 hours before that. The first game is supposed to end at 6:30, so I’ll start watching around 3:30 (EST).
Seriously - have you seen any authoritative declaration of the kickoff time for the Jets-Colts today?!?
The Jets/Colts kickoff is for 3pm Eastern.
Saints/Vikings 6:40 Eastern.
I heard they are going to have moose races before the games start.
And not 3:45PM?
I can't find anything definitive that says when they intend to have the kickoff.
Funny, but mean. lol
Time listed on the TV + 20 minutes for the first game.
However, if the first game runs late the second one will be delayed.
Check your cable/satellite guide. That’ll put you in the right ballpark. Otherwise, its always a little hit and miss as to when the actual kickoff will occur - but its usually within 15 minutes or so of the TV start time.
Your level of anger at this seems a bit excessive.
SnakeDoc
I think kickoff for the first game is appx. 3:07PM ET and for the second game is appx. 6:37PM ET.
Isn’t “Heidi” supposed to be broadcast this afternoon?
Eat some bread while waiting for the circus.
You need to calm down.
CBS pregame show is at 2pm, game at 3pm...kickoff should happen by about 3:03pm.
FOX pregame show is at 6pm, game at 6:30pm...kickoff should happen by about 6:33pm.
>>Theyre already over. Did you miss them? If so, you missed two of the greatest games ever played, in any sport.<<
They’ll be talking about the Jets comeback for YEARS! And that injury to Manning — I hope he has a career after this...
Don't you think it's a little bizarre that I can Google literally tens of thousands of news outlets but that NONE of them will tell me the kickoff time?
And you wonder why the American public never heard of William Ayers before Tuesday, November 4, 2008?
This Game Theoretic idea that there can't be unified conspiracies is simply idiotic - the whole modern world [as presented to us by the MSM] seems like one great big unified conspiracy.
