J.D Hayworth V. John McCain
January 22, 2010 | David Farrar

I now believe Sarah Palin's Facebook announcement that she would stump for McCain in the Arizona primary was an attempt to scare off JD Hayworth from entering the race against McCain.

I hope the story is true -- that he has quit his day job and will file soon. If such is the case, this race will, without doubt, be the most important race we grassroot Republicans and Tea Party supports have on our plate.

I guess we can actually do no better than placing RINO- Republicans in the blue states this time around. So the real battle that will determine whether we can take back our country will be fought in the red states, between liberal-incumbent-Republicans and new grassroot conservatives challengers.

In these terms then, there is no better state that represent this kind of inter-party battle for the hearts and minds of grassroot Republicans than in the Arizona primary. It is truly sad that Sarah Palin has chosen to support McCain in this effort.

The liberal-incumbent Republican's strategy is clear now. If you can cut the Tea Party challenger's knees off at the primary, there will be little the Tea Party movement can do except hold their noses and vote for the Republican in the general.

I hope this time around the Tea Party movement can make a difference...it will all depend on how good the Tea Party movement supporters are at getting their people to the polls for the primary election. I would suggest Tea Party official start planning for this event now instead of holding marches. Better yet, lets all have a bunch of Tea Parties at the voting booth on primary day! -- especially in Arizona where the political future of the Republican Party itself will be played out in the trenches -- how fitting.

Yep, if she’s going to take the Tea Partiers’ speaking fee and funnel it to candidates like McCain, you’ve even more of a point.

Hayworth casts a shadow that has more conservative integrity than McCain!

From a previous post of mine.

REPOST

I was most impressed with Hayworth in 2003-04. Remember when the fuel pipeline broke between Tucson and Phoenix? Poor old Napolitano had not a clue what to do. Gas shortages in Phoenix and costs 3-4 dollars above the national average.

Hayworth had a plan and he shared it with Napolitano. Get the gasoline on train tankers pronto! Get gasoline to the Phoenix area. Get semi-tankers to transfer the fuel from the trains to the retailers. Get the pipeline crews working pronto. Contract bonuses to companies that could deliver the soonest and pay them for it.

Napolitano took his advice and problem was solved in two weeks or sooner.

Hayworth knows how to fix stuff.

The former Gov had no clue how to fix the problem. McCain offered no advice.

Hayworth built a plan and challenged Napolitano to implement it. It worked.

Believe me, conservatives here in AZ are perplexed about this...JD Hayworth is the only one who has a chance against him. If she campaigns against JD, her credibility suffers. I don’t think it’s going to make too much difference in the vote, in all honesty.

I like Sarah and would be glad to support her if she runs again for office.

And I furthermore understand why she would go to bat for McCain.

But that isn’t a good enough reason to vote for him. She’s doing what she thinks is the honorable thing to do, and it would have been hard for her to say no, even though the guy doesn’t deserve her loyalty; there isn’t a loyal bone in his body.

I hope people will retire McCain once and for all.

Hers is an honest feeling of gratitude for the man who put her in the national spotlight. Let things play out a bit before you make up your mind on what she will do and the motives.

She’s damaged goods if she does. She’ll lose her cred’s, for sure. A True Conservative and one who seeks to mend “the party” and bring together Conservatives does NOT drive a wedge between Party candidates in a primary.

Run, JD, Run.

I love ya Sarah but the movement is bigger than you. If you want to throw in with the establishment Republicans I’m done with ya.

I doubt if she knew anything about it. And I presume that she responded to McCain’s invitation to attend a fundraising, rather than volunteering.

There is certainly a potential minefield here. But let’s not jump the gun on it.

Sarah will be bloodied by supporting John. The country’s conservatives are ready to turn him out to pasture, and so are Arizona’s.

Her announcing she would help McCain has gut punched my admiration of her.

He is the BIGGEST problem of the GOP!

Is there a poll that shows he has any chance against McChurian? Or, is he grandstanding just to get back to the radio with higher ratings? I’ve always liked him to the extent that I’ve heard from him from thousands of miles away, but if he’s just another Fred Thompson with no shot then he’s just burning up Tea Party money and energy and creating a chasm with Palin, who has to help McAmnesty out of sheer human decency.

Right now, I’d give Palin a better shot at defeating the Dems in 2012 than I’d give Hayworth of unseating McPain.

And I furthermore understand why she would go to bat for McCain.

I do too. In this case, though, I think she should just sit that one out because I can see why she wouldn't necessarily want to campaign for McLame's opponent - even though he DID let his campaign staff distroy her.

And if she thinks scratching McCain’s back in return is honorable, she isn’t really in a position to complain about the back-scratching orgy that is Washington.
