Was the Feminist Movement only for Liberal Women?
Minneapolis Star Trib ^ | 01/22/10 | Annette Meeks

Yesterday, Senator Arlen Specter, (D-R-D, PA), was on a radio station debating Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. During their discussion, Specter rudely cut off the discussion by patronizingly yelling at Congresswoman Bachmann, a tax attorney: “I’m going to treat you like a lady. Now act like one!”

To her credit, Congresswoman Bachmann politely sidestepped this rude and degrading comment and continued to discuss the topic at hand.

Wow.

It’s hard to imagine the outrage from liberals across the county if a conservative shouted those same words at Speaker Pelosi. Or Hillary Clinton. The outcry from the highest elected officials in this country would be deafening. The main-stream media would editorialize on how conservatives have degraded our political process with “over the top, right wing rhetoric.” Uber-liberal political commentators like Keith Olbermann would devote their entire show to discussion with the aggrieved and how this type of “hate speech” is typical of Republican elected officials. Predictably, the main stream media, liberal blogs and the talking heads would marginalize the offender, reducing them to the lowest level of the political caste system. The well-orchestrated outrage from all sources would be deafening. Ultimately the accused would decline to run for re-election.

In this case, however, those same rules don’t apply. There has been no apology from Senator Specter. I can’t find any editorials saying that Specter and his degradation of women went too far. And when blogs and other alternative media have commented on this outrageous outburst, the assumption is that Bachmann had it coming.

And so today, I’m sending a check to the Pat Toomey campaign to help him retire Senator Specter. It’s the least I can do to further encourage smart women like Congresswoman Bachmann to stay in the political arena. Isn’t that what the women’s movement was supposed to be all about?

This article is what ten years late. To quote Denny Green, “They’re who we thought they were.” when the “Feminist” were conspicuosly silent when Slick Willie had his fun with the intern.

Didn’t Rush posit that the feminist movement was created to allow unattractive women access to the mainstream? If true, then, yes, the feminist IS only for Liberal Women. One only needs eyes to see the QED in this.

I am just a terrible person. lol

When Arlen Specter switched from Republican to Democrat, he improved the character of both parties.

If you watch the PBS Frontline special on it, they explain that the Women’s Movement was actually the start of the Gay Rights movement.

Back when I was a Child, I used to play under the quilting frame at the Ladies Aide Society, at the local Ward in Salt lake City.

All of the Ladies would discuss the ills of the World under the tutelage of the Boss Hens. The Boss Hens Usually won by talking down the Younger Hens and Chicks and behold they all fell in line.

Same, Same Feminism.

Arlen Specter originally was a Democrat, years later became a Republican, then went back to the Democrats.

What are the two main differences between stepping into a pile of Spector and a pile of excrement?

The excrement is far far easier to clean off and it stinks less.
