Yes newbie, McCain isa a republican, but he is in fact a low life RINO progressive liberal.
Name three things that he stands for and won’t change that are conservative?
He supports big government, the bail out, amnesty. He bashes conservatives every chance he gets.
In fact Sarah’s support of him means I NO LONGER support Sarah. She is just another pol.

It appears that Sarah has aided McCain in this move. Her support of him leads him to believe that the Tea Party will also support him.
We need to fund JD Hayworth and make sure McCain does not win and send a message to Sarah.
If her support of McCain aids him in winning I will not vote or support her.

“Free Republic does not and will not support RINOS!! Not now!! Not ever!!”
Hmmm. Does it say anything about supporting those who support the RINO’s?

Can’t imagine any Tea Party person, any conservative going for McCain. He is a huge phony. Makes me wonder why Palin would campaign for him.

Makes me wonder why Palin would campaign for him. It's called loyalty.
That's a principle, too.
I wish he wasn't. But I understand why.

Sarabaracuda previously posted - I wont no part of a movement that will turn on a woman of Sarahs caliber over one little issue. Sarah Palin has enormous support from the conservative base. She risks losing it by supporting RINOs who consistantly sell out this base. If this were only "one little issue," it would not likely be so crucial.
We judge Mr Obama by the company he keeps. Sarah Palin should expect the same scrutiny.

Good point about her pov. She can certainly drag McCain more to the right by working with him, which would be greatly appreciated by all conservatives. A win for both of them.
Thanks for the serious answer to a serious question.

Perry has demonstrated some problems, as well as some good things, and Hutchinson is not all that conservative IMO, and Debra is an unknown at this point. She may be OK, but she’s way back in the pack.

This brings up a topic which has yet to be settled satisfactorily, which is the reaction of MANY (not all, but many) Palin supporters to anything or anyone perceived to be even the slightest bit critical of the former Governor of Alaska.
Most of her supporters are fairly well versed and informed as to what her views are, they generally have a good understanding of the critical issues that all conservatives should be concerned about. MOST good conservative FReepers have little tolerance for RINOs (after all, the 'RINO-free America Project' was started right here on FR and has the blessings of our Founder), but let someone (hello Rabs? lol) point out that SarahPAC has contributed thousands of dollars to the likes of Orrin Hatch, Lindsey Graham, Lisa Murkowski and John McCain (a pack of disgusting RINOs if there ever was one) and they are going to catch holy freakin Hell from the swarms of Sarah fans descending upon them like angry bees whose hive has been poked with a stick!
For that unlucky soul (how ya doin' Rabs? lol), will be called every name in the book, accused of being a Ron Paul supporter, a Sarah-hater/basher, a sexist baboon, a DU troll, a Martian with herpes, it goes on and on, and why?
Because in the world of SOME (not all, but SOME) Sarah supporters, NO criticism is allowed. If you say one bloody word that is less than supportive of the former Governor, you are nothing but a tool of the 'Rats, and you are the ENEMY, no matter if you raise legitimate questions, it is a pure black and white calculation on their part, i.e., "you are either with us (the Sarah supporters), or you are with the enemy, and that makes YOU an enemy of Sarah!" Their world is starkly two-dimensional.
Question Sarah's credentials in any area? How dare you! You'll be reminded that 0bama has less experience than Sarah does and he is even now living in the White House (as if that somehow puts to rest any doubt about her qualifications). Raise the issue of Sarah endorsing, supporting and presumably campaigning for RINO McCain's re-election in Arizona? Ohhhh, you just don't understand 'personal loyalty', but those making excuses for Sarah regarding McCain, and praising her for such 'loyalty' would be hard pressed to justify a hypothetical Ronald Reagan of the past who might have campaigned for Democrats out of a sense of 'personal loyalty' because golly gee whiz, Reagan USED to be a Democrat up until 1962, so would they have admired Reagan had he lent his name and prestige to the liberal 'Rats of his day, back when he was spoken of in the same breath as was Barry Goldwater? I don't think so.
There is a strange calculus on the part of many Sarah supporters, in this thread alone, when the conservatism of South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint was mentioned, right away came the sneer from the Sarah bleachers "welllll didn't DeMint endorse in 2008?!?!?" which is irrelevant now, IF DeMint came out to support Romney in the next presidential election cycle, that would be relevant and fair game for criticism. Question the wisdom of Sarah appearing on TV with that corpulent new age babbling 0prah? Ohhhhh, you don't understand, this is just an advanced strategy to reach people who haven't heard or understand what Sarah is all about, don't you get it you simpletons? Sarah is smarter and knows more than you pack of pissants could ever hope to know. (w/apologies to FR's own pissant, ;)
The bottom line?
There should not be any double standard when it comes to examining and discussing Sarah's views, positions, statements and actions if she is going to involve herself in the political life of our Nation. She is not (or should not) be immune to criticism, even harsh criticism.
And I daresay that Sarah herself would agree with that heartily.

MK, That was a fine piece of analysis. As well written as any that I can recall.

Wait until the elephant in the living room (regarding support for Sarah) is brought up, then all hell will break loose. I’m not sure if the forum will ever be ready for that.

Yep, McCain has to go. He is long overdue for retirement, and he never did represent a true conservative agenda.
To: rabscuttle385
Yes she way, and even during the 2000 campaign, she was sporting a “Hillary pin” in several of the video and still shots I saw of her.
It’s one of the reasons I would never vote for him.
Similarly, the Gov of CA - his wife is a Kennedy - and he actually claims to be a repub ..?? Get real!
