The World Bids Farewell To Obama
Charles Hawley
Jan. 21, 2010, 9:32 AM
US President Barack Obama suffered a painful defeat in Massachusetts on Tuesday. With mid-term elections looming, it means that Obama will have to fundamentally re-think his political course. German commentators say it is the end of hope.
US President Barack Obama has had a number of difficult weeks during his first year in the White House. Right after he took office, he had to wade through a week full of partisan bickering over his economic stimulus package combined with a tax scandal surrounding Tom Daschle, the man Obama had hoped would lead his health care reform team. Then there was the last week of 2009, when a failed terror attack on a flight inbound for Detroit exposed major flaws in US efforts to identify and stop potential terrorists.
This week, though -- a week when Obama should have been celebrating the first anniversary of his inauguration -- may have been the president's worst yet.

Well I guess that white guys who own guns are the only ones left.
Music to my conservative ears.
Obozo has taken several harpoons here. With blood in the water I wonder how long it will be before we see some leaks about his legal standing to be POTUS. I think the “birthers” might be vindicated. Now wouldn’t THAT be fun to watch!
The article actually includes that statement? Please, someone show me a hint of an inkling of "bipartisanship" since bambi took office or even since madam botox became Speaker.
I read the German article. If they like him so much, why not offer him leadership of their country. I’d gladly contribute toward sending him there.
It was fitting that this happened on Robert E. Lee's birthday.
It'll be the democrats in Washington pushing it! Their life of tax payer paid luxury and privilege is on the line, too.
The end of scum sucking socialist politicians and their useful idiots is the beginnning of hope for a Free Republic’s most valuable citizens.
I’m thinking this is the beginning of the ‘spin-out’...
Just like a loose car on the road during an ice storm. You see it begin to swerve and lose control before the total dance across both sides of the road...
So long barry, we hardly knew ye. -Thank GOD.
Here I was thinking nobama would be more suited as Grand Poopah of that garbage dump Hateee. He wouldn’t have to work so hard at destroying its economy and the hatee-ians will just love the crumbs from manschelles kobe-beef and lobster plate.
I was thinking of a different German word to describe this.
Without question, Europeans wished BO's agenda on this country out of sheer love and goodwill.
Remember, he is the guy that couldn't/wouldn't make a decision about 40K troops in Afghanistan. He agonized for months over the number then approved only 75% of what is commanding general asked for.
The other 10K he kept back he immediately threw at Haiti, and he is continuing to throw in bonus numbers. Instead of asking for UN action he reflexively committed the US for an all new quagmire. What a guy!
He is more versed in the Koran than voo dooo thus, in thinking of his welfare and mental comfort he is better off at home in Saudi land or Indonesia.
He has proved on may points he is not an American, nor does he have an understanding of what it is or how it works. But he still strives to “improve” it.
From the article on Spiegel:
“he could back away from his strategy of bipartisanship ... which would mean giving up much of what he spent his first year in office creating.”
Absolutely unbelievable. His strategy of bipartisanship??
Not so fast, still a very dangerous man.
Prepare for a "wag the dog" event if his ratings fall much more. Almost 100% sure to happen.
Buy defense stocks soon.
'Zactly!
I love the headline.
Now if the article only came with photo’s of a U-Haul backed up to the While House and Michelle screaming at Obama as she loads her kids into “clunker”.
Amen!!!
You are so right!
