I am not advocating it, but we would have been better off politically if the Dems had passed their radical bill. And the Dems know it. Brown may have been a godsend for them in that regard.
He’ll continue to (try) to get his agenda done. I predict he’ll soon try some kind of pitch to the two Senators from Maine or someone else like them who has their price, or (behind the scenes of course) try to flip a Senator from a southern state who might be blackmail bait. Not that I’d mention names...
It was quite obvious to me from Day 1 after the ‘08 election that he would be stuck like this. In the real world, leftist policies don’t work and common sense Americans know it, yet he is beholden to his leftist base (and his own idealogy) to push for such policies.

The very idea that you can ramrod something through by the “sheer force of will” and not wind up ineffective and irrelevant in national politics of the United States is sheer lunacy and moronic.
Our very system of government was created and founded on concepts and constructs to keep a small minority or single person from being able to effect radical change quickly. We fought a revolution to get rid of a King and his minions, the government we have was intentionally created to PREVENT us from winding up with another one.
These American haters and socialists that are this administration and the Democratic leadership hate America so much that they don't even understand the most fundamental concept of the Government they are part of.
The Minute they decided damn the torpedoes, the only conclusion they were going to wind up with was irrelevance. These guys are so collectively stupid, that in spite of several very clear warning signs that they were painting themselves into a corner, they continued on the path, and even now, they are still at least publicly screaming damn the torpedoes.
They are absolute abject fools, the democratic party is being lead by socialists, communists and traitors. The rank and file are not going to walk lock step behind Pelosi now, and she won't be able to FORCE or BRIBE her way to effect anything.
Pelosi will NOT be speaker in 2011, Reid will not be re-elected. The win in Mass by Republicans effectively created 3 lame ducks overnight. Fauxbama, Pelosi and Reid are now nothing more than walking political corpses.
We have 3 years of a lame duck presidency ahead of us, presuming of course he does not wind up impeached, which if the November elections go the way I believe they will, I put the odds of Fauxbama having articles of impeachment written up against him and pushed by his own party at at least 50/50 if not higher, as they try to separate themselves from the radioactive millstone around their necks that is this administration in order to save their party.
