Their traitors and they will NEVER give up. The only way to save this nation is to vote them all out.

This will be blamed on the conservatives and used against them. People will be dumb enough to believe it.

Ironically, one year ago the left claimed that Social Security was not in trouble.

It sounds to me like Obama is going to replace congress with an 18 member panel that he appoints. That sounds really great doesn’t it! /s.

GOP needs to get out there NOW and tell the American people what BO has done to them... especially the senior citizens.

This is disgraceful.

I can see it now. Out in the audience members will stand up holding signs “You Lie”

Silent protest is passive resistance and the way of the Black culture. The One should embrace such action

This is another abrogation of duties directed to the legislative branch that is tell the Executive how to run the government. This is like the base closing commission of years gone by.

The article is another cover piece for the administration, slight of hand, look over here while I do this over there.

Somehow I really doubt that “conservatives” support surrendering the legislative authority of the Congress to an 18 member panel appointed by obama, who is finding even one party democrat majority rule a way too troublesome and slow means of ruling the people

Ah for the good ol’ days of George Bush when a 2% increase in SS was called a “cut” by democrats looking for 5%

Has AARP applauded this yet?

It really really does look like the democrats are severing the seniors from their bloc of favored constituents - but those pesky experienced citizens have lots of energy and money and lots of time to campaign - and VOTE

Pass the buck to a new authority with broad power to propose changes? What the H E double toothpick does that mean?

Hey No-bama, grow a pair and propose something yourself.

Oh that’s right, Me-shell has your do-hickies in her purse. Might as well pass it off to Dusty and Madame like before.

Hey Pubbies. Give ‘em NOTHING. Salt the fields. Shut the whole thing down til after the midterms, then impeach the base-tards.

If Bush had done this there would have been riots in the streets.

Among other things, the “entitlements” are Ponzi schemes.

A very large amount of noise and fuss needs to be made about this.

The panel is a fraud to eliminate debate and bi-partisan compromise. It is the enactment of one-party dictatorial rule over all US entitlement programs and tens of *trillions* of dollars.

This is yet again the 0bama leftist administration UNILATERALLY telling us what “conservatives” and “The American People” do or don’t want and then screwing the us without even a token amount of debate or representation.

They don’t intend to waste the entitlement money crisis and this is their gambit.

Kill it.

Goodbye congress as you are to be replaced by a 16 person committee directed by the White House.

Far easier to manipulate 18 rather than 435....this is unconstitutional...and hopefully will be challenged.

The deal is based on rickety interpretation of the country’s basic laws governing taxation. Normally, any change in taxes must be passed first by the House, with legislation wending its way through the Ways and Means Committee up to the floor. This proposed arrangement short cuts—indeed appears to bypass—this procedure. The appointed commission is to make a recommendation on the budget after the election and that recommendation then goes straight to the floor of both houses for an up or down binding vote

Good Lord, taking control in plain sight.

Control the economy and control everyone, with a 18 person star chamber and a token congress.

Our laziness and a congress full of power hungry game players, have delivered this on us.

The Baltimore Chronicle may want to believe that the panel will advocate cuts, but the truth is more likely the panel will be the catalyst for further tax increases.

May I safely assume that this paper is rabidly left-wing?

Maybe he’ll appoint an “Entitlements Czar”! That should help! Along with a staff of 50 in cushy offices in D.C. the new Czar should be able to “oversee” the cuts to entitlements and save jobs, and create jobs, and, and, and....

Oh wait, we already have 100 Entitlement Czars; they called Senators.
