Sen. Ben Nelson (D., Neb.) reacts to the Massachusetts election in a statement (emphasis added):
Clearly, the vote showed that people are frustrated with Washington...and I am too. That frustration will likely register across the board for all incumbents. The overriding message from yesterday is that people are upset because Washington is dysfunctional and not working together for them.
The Massachusetts vote should be a wake-up call for Washington. Republicans now have 41 votes in the Senate, Democrats and Independents have 59. The 60/40 split that took us too far down the road to partisan gamesmanship is history.
The vote should end the situation where one side thinks it doesnt need the other, and the other thinks theres no need to work together for the good of the nation.

So true. All these “moderate” Dems scum from the heartland like Nelson, Evan Bayh and coastal Webb, who writes pedophile war books, have their crocodile tears revisionism. We never meant to vote for it - we was snookered by the “light skinned Obama with no negro dialect.”
They are vermin. They voted for this. These bastards wold have sent all of us to the gallows and would have rationalized it.
Savage had a guy on and said the House could still get it through with ONE vote to spare. Cao said he would vote no now and Wexler retired. This leaves NY-23 that thanks to Newt, Dede and the RINO scum GOP members of NY-23 put it in a Dems hand. That one vote could still pass Obamacare.
This is traditional democratic backpedaling....too late.. the bike just got pushed over.........
BOOM!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all the way >>>>>>>>> to congress. Can’t duck that bullet!
Top 2010 campaign slogan across the US: “You’re next”
Nelson should just resign now. All he is going to do from now until he faces reelection is make a fool of himself.
Some enterprising individual needs to make a post card of a broom—and we should send thousands of them to the hypocrites in Congress.
Nelson shows his arrogance. He never thought that the good people of Nebraska were smart enough to elect someone else. He never thought that he would be held accountable for his actions. He is way beyond the point of no return.
"CHUTZPAH!"
Mark
to the point where I'm minded to award him a golden broken record for, well, having become a broken record:
This guy is digging himself in deeper everyday.
The only words he needs to be saying right now is, “I’m sorry. The people of Nebraska deserve ethical leadership and I’ve fallen short.”
And then of course, resign.
Ben, you might as well not even run for re-election. Be smart like a few of your other less vulnerable colleagues have done.
Clearly, the vote showed that people are frustrated with Washington...and I am too. That frustration will likely register across the board for all incumbents. The overriding message from yesterday is that people are upset because Washington is dysfunctional and not working together for them.....”
Oh, so he’s fed-up with D.C. too now, huh? After getting B-J’ed and getting a free-ride and going right along with the libs......he’s suddenly feeling “misled.”
No good POS SOB. He, Bayh, and McCaskill must have had a private breakfast this morning to come up with a CYA story. Try to convince the people they were just innocent bystanders and so on, etc.
Damned shallow, hollow, transparent Dems them all. There are no “moderate” or “centrist” Dems anymore and this has shown it clear as day. If they have a “D” next to their name they’ll go to D.C. and fall in line regardless of how they campaigned or what the public mood is back home.
He blamed Republicans. Typical Clintonian non-apology apology.
I was thinking seppuku on statewide television might be a more satisfying end.
That!
First Bayh, then Nelson. These death bed conversions are getting exceedingly tiresome. GET OFF THE STAGE, YOU HAD YOUR 15 MINUTES OF FAME AND YOU BLEW IT!
Old Ben is trying to salvage his Senate career.
Elected a Republican from the bluest state in the union...and it's the seat Ted Kennedy held for 47 years and was the author of the healthcare bill....sweet justice.
And yet, Nelson is running spots on local TV stations during AMERICAN IDOL defending his vote. Hypocrite.
Ben Nelson must be voted out. Clean the sewer thoroughly.
