Health Care: Will the administration seize the moment of Scott Brown's victory to work out real solutions, or will it follow Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid over the cliff? Or is it just about government control?
Before Sen.-elect Brown became the Scott heard 'round the world, House Speaker Pelosi was asked what his victory in the bluest of blue states would mean. "Certainly the dynamic will change depending on what happens in Massachusetts," she replied in a bit of an understatement.
The dynamic has changed, yet the Democrats, as the country song goes, apparently don't know when to hold them and when to fold them.
"I heard the candidate in Massachusetts, the Republican candidate, say 'Let's go back to the drawing board,'" Pelosi told reporters in California on Monday. "There is no back to the drawing board. . .. We will have health care one way or another."
After the 1994 GOP tsunami, largely due to the failed attempt at HillaryCare, President Clinton wisely chose to work with the people's representatives. Rather than fight ideas that weren't his, he co-opted them, such as welfare reform.
He went on to a second term and, in cooperation with a GOP Congress, had budget surpluses on his watch.

“He went on to a second term and, in cooperation with a GOP Congress, had budget surpluses on his watch.”
This is a big lie. They added Social Security surpluses to the general fund and claimed a budget surplus, meanwhile the national debt went up.
The next slogan will be. “DEM still don’t get it, send them a message”
i wish gop will come in and fix these corrupt accounting pratices by the government. Of course this benefit them as well, but I just wish, if you’re fooling yourself over the state of the economy, you won’t know how to govern
yup.
They blatantly ignore the very loud and angry voice of the electorate instructing them on what it wants done because the Dems. know what's best for us. They deny us basic dignity, respect and self-determination. They treat us as if we were incompetent to make judgments in our best interests.
They have become America's ruling class, from which we are allowed to select as our “benevolent” rulers. This is why they negatively react so strongly to candidates who come out of the common electorate and actually represent their values and views- such as Sarah Palin. It is obvious, that only those suitable in class with the appropriate educational and financial pedigree should be recognized as worthy.
The only reason the Slave Party gained power in 2006 is that it had been a dozen years and memories had faded. The media covered for them for the first go-round, but now it’s obvious even to the lamest who these power-mad thugs really are.

Well, there are a few dips, like a $50B dip in the Total Public Debt Oustanding in Spring of 2000. But overall under Clinton and the Pubbies the TPDO went from 4.1T to 5.7T or +39% in 8 years.
Under Bush, the pubbies and the RATs the TPDO rose from 5.7T to 10.6T - or +98% in 8 years. Keep in mind we were also fighting a two front war. (not making excuses as we all know the pubbies spend WAY too much.)
Under bammy: +17% in 1 year.
In any case, UP, UP, UP and more of a percentage of our, our kids and grandkids futures is being sucked into the black hole of debt.
I called my midwestern liberal congressman today with this message: “You are next.”
I encourage everyone to do the same.
