Scott Brown reminds me of Sarah Palin in his ability to generate buzz and interest in his appearances.

He has amazing leadership skills. I could have done without the comments regarding his daughters, though they were silly and harmless. He acted like he was just talking to the people in the hall, not national tv. No biggie.

I would not be surprised if he is the GOP Presidential candidate in 2016, if he is reelected as Senator in 2012

It was so cute, you can tell they tease each other a lot in that family, and laugh a lot too. It was nice to see.

"What song did she sing?

Here is a youtube link to the top 12 American Idol runoff. Ayla didn't make the top twelve and she was quite emotional. Simon said it wasn't her, it was the song. Not sure which song he is referring to.

At the end when she was eliminated they had her sing. She was quite emotional as she first started to sing.

Click on other Youtube videos on the right side. She sings the "Star Spangled Banner" at the Boston Pops. Also she sings a song called "Reflections" not sure if this was on American Idol. She is a beautiful girl.

I agree. It was just a harmless comment, nothing more. I do not understand the fuss.

The press always make fusses when they need to fill up white spaces and to meet deadlines.

the comment struck me as a dad who was used to giving his girls a hard time and hadn’t quite grasped he’s now on the national stage. Exactly, reminded me of myself and how I tease my gals. They must be a close family.

Ayla Brown singing the Star Spangled Banner..............HERE

Can you imagine if she sang The Star Spangled Banner before a NASCAR Race at Bristol?

Here is another link. In this one she sings "I want you to want me". She also tells about being pretty much of a Tom Boy before she came on American Idol. She said she had never put on make-up etc and had to be shown. At the end Simon says he bets she gets all A's. She said No! When she first started school she only got C's. Very good interview.

Celine Deon sang this song. Kind of hard to beat Celine Deon.

As the parent of an early 20’s female offspring, I’m surprised both Scott’s daughters aren’t on the warpath. Scott, hope you can get that shoe taste out of your mouth soon < grin >.

I thought it was so cute..even in his big win, he managed time to tease AND INCLUDED his girls, and even bumped fist with one of them after teasing the other..showing she liked how Dad did a Gotcha on the other ..That is a GREAT DAD!!!

Ditto! It was very heartwarming to see all the fun. It was a little peek into their family that shows how they tease and have a good time with each other. I think it demonstrated their closeness.

Of course, had my DH said that, my daughter would have killed him! LOL

Oh my gosh! She is a spinster at 21.

IIRC, a spinster is an unmarried woman twenty-five or older.

"Oh my gosh! She is a spinster at 21.:-)"

Didn't you notice my smiley face at the end of that statement? I was joking because the other poster said they were surprised she was still single.

"IIRC, a spinster is an unmarried woman twenty-five or older."

I just looked up several dictionary definitions and none give an age. Just say beyond the "common" or "conventional" age for marrying.

Absolutely!

It also was ( for some of us) a real laugh out loud moment after all the stress we've been through. It was a nice release.

It kinda stuck me as father and daughter have a lot of give and take in their relationships...I thought it funny and something my father might have said. Although being a retired cop, he’d say it with his gun in his belt...
