Palin to hit 2010 trail
Statement from Sarah Palin

Title: Ride the Tide with Commonsense Candidates!

I want to again thank the good people of Massachusetts for propelling a commonsense, independent agenda forward! May the working man and woman feel empowered now more than ever to get involved in their government, and let's put this great country on the right track. The past year continues to offer the promise of commonsense government in so many areas. There are steps we can all take to get there, one of which is to support candidates who promise to fight FOR the people and AGAINST politics as usual. I'm excited to get out and help elect candidates who will bring those principles to our nation's towns, state houses, and directly to Washington D.C. We are already making plans to support the candidates our nation needs to make a difference and speak for everyday Americans. I look forward to helping Governors like Rick Perry in Texas, Representatives like Michele Bachmann in Minnesota, and heroes and statesmen like Senator John McCain. We will support these candidates and others so that they can continue to fight for our American values. The special election yesterday in Massachusetts was truly amazing. It is a clear indication of things to come and a demonstration of the momentum we all share in the fight for the values and policies that will get our country back to work. The commonsense conservative principles of liberty and fiscal responsibility are on the rise, and that's why I'm going out and campaigning as hard as I can to make a difference. I can't wait to join all of you in supporting these great candidates and many more over the coming months. In the meantime, visit the websites of Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, and John McCain. And join us as we embark on America's journey to November!

She HAS to campaign for him.
Does anyone honestly believe that supporting his opponent is a viable option?!

For Sarah to support McCain is an action/answer of repaying him for his bringing her to the stage in America. MO

I am not in favor of John McCain, he has strayed too far toward reconciliation and liberal thinking. He has changed and lost his strength. He is not one I trust anymore. He has continued to be strong on defense, which is good.

Immigration is another topic all together, he does not listen to the people of Arizona, Texas, which must bear the brunt of this stampede of immigrants the last few years.

Immigration from Mexico must stop and become controlled, and admitted by a certain number only each year. It has overwhelmed the border states, schools, hospitals, housing, illegal violent crimes, congested highways, many with no English, no drivers license, an interest in cock fighting (illegal), drinking, fighting, and driving wild. Many commit sexual crimes. Too much. Overwhelming numbers.

Not all, not all, many are good people. Hard working and all. Still they are swarming into the border states unprepared to support them. Not fair, not fair.

Sorry John, you have compromised too much, been involved in corrupt deals and it ill becomes members of the Senate to be corrupt.

God help us in our day, in Jesus name, Amen.

She could stay out of the primary altogether and support McCain against the Democrat if it came to that.

Supporting Queeg against Hayworth is career suicide, and no, she didn't have to commit it.

But there IS a viable option. She can keep her mouth shut during the Republican primary race and let the Arizona voters (like me) decide if they want a stalwart conservative to be their standard bearer (Hayworth) or a progressive (McCain).

After the primary, if McCain pulls it out, she can campaign for him then against his Democratic challenger.

She could stay out of the race.

Look, I love Sarah but this goes against all of the “tea party” movement.

McCain is a big part of the PROBLEM in DC today.

I’m not saying she won’t run and win, I just think it is a huge mistake.

She and Todd have earned a few bucks by now. The last week in March in the Mediterranean is probably beautiful. Villa on the sea sounds romantic. Get the hell out of the country please. Don't self fit political cement overshoes. For McLame?

Actually, he has controlled his daughter lately. The closer the primary gets, the quieter she gets. He must have threatened to cut off her allowance.

That is a very good point.
I agree.
She should have waited until AFTER the primary.

If true, a poor choice. She has nothing to gain by it, and certainly will lose.

Apparently, some of our fellow FReepers don’t understand that this is a primary election, and that Queeg’s opponent is a solid conservative. They’re talking like it’s a general election.

We need to clean out the house and senate. That means disposing of RINOs like McCain.
If we don't it will be business as usual in DC.
I would suggest running a real conservative against him.
I would support a libertarian before I let McCain grant amnesty to the F**KS so they can contribute to the downfall of the Republic.

Agreed.
I didn’t take into account the primary.
I guess I had resigned myself to the fact that she would be forced to support McCain.
My bad.

Those of you in AZ, take a look at McCain’s campaign literature and his newsletters over the last 6 months. He’s going farther and farther to the right. I’m waiting to see where he goes on immigration reform/amnesty before I pass judgment, but something tells me he’s going to be doing a 180 on this issue. He has seen the handwriting on the wall.

That said, if nothing else Palin has shown she is loyal and likely feels she owes him. Plus, her campaigning for McCain is going to cause liberal media heads to explode as they’ve been pushing the theme since the campaign ended that there was great animosity between McCain and Palin, that they couldn’t stand one another, that they had no relationship.....yada yada yada. This will be fun watching how they spin her appearances for him.

Big, big mistake on Sarah’s part. Campaign for Michelle Bachmann, by all means... but not McCain! She had the perfect opportunity to “politely decline” to stump for him, given the way he and his cronies tried to throw her under the bus (many times); but now, it’d come across as a political waffle.

This idea of “be magnanimous” is fine when it means “hold to the high ground as you congratulate your opponent on going out to pasture”; but empowering him? Good grief, that’s dumb.

I have such great admiration for him. I honor him. I love him. I believe that he is the best leader that we have in the nation right now, still, is John McCain. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,449884,00.html

Ugh. I think Sarah just exposed her fatal flaw.

I still like her, but this Queeg worship is a bridge too far. I will never take her seriously as a candidate again.
