Cao should (and I hope will) face a strong challenge in GOP PRIMARIES!

This traitor is in Congress, fortunately.

This was one of the last RNC RINO picks.

I don't think the RNC or the RNCC gave him anything more than token support as this was a race that no Republican was supposed to win, ever.

Now, I'm no fan of the national establishment either, but facts matter.

Is it possible tha Cao is a RAT infiltrator, disguised a a Republican? Or is he just a garden variety RINO?

So you would rather have a 100% dem voter rather than a 62%?

Cool.

You put a true conservative as a candidate in that district he wouldn’t get more than 30% of the vote.

FACT.

And the positives (breaking people’s allergies, as you say, the occasional votes, and possibly the occasional convert to something other than the non-stop propaganda heard in these districts) far outweigh the non-existent negatives.

Eh?? The Democraps wouldnt be on the verge of ramming their unpopular nationalizations through if they had your attitude.

There are at least 45 Dem reps in the house in clearly Republican districts. Guys like Chet Edwards (Tx) and Walt Minnick (Id) who are in extremely Republican areas who vote for Pelosi as leader and here and there for the Democrap agenda.

Thats how it works in America, you have to take what you can and let the "leadership" do their thing. Thankgod Obama and his people have overreached (I hope).

BTW here is the demographics for that district:

District Demographics
U.S. Census data put Representative Cao’s record in the context of the people who he represents. Louisiana District 2 is 99.38 percent urban, 69.33 percent non-white, and has a population that is 3.80 percent Latino and 4.75 percent foreign-born. 16.89 percent of adults working in Rep. Cao’s district commute using public transportation, on a bike or on foot. 7.45 percent of adults aged 25 and older in Cao’s district have a Master’s, PhD or Professional Degree.

First, there are many conservative democrats in Congress, whose % of “liberalism” is lower than Cao’s.
Second, his 62% of agreement to Pelosi’s view is on very important issues, so many that it would be more honest to fight a democrat.

Or is he just a garden variety RINO?

His district is overwhelmingly Democrat, with something like 75 % Black. In a dozen precincts within the district he got zero votes. None.

Probably never again in a thousand years will we be able to get a Republican in there. .. How's that for perspective ?

What??? They are on the verge of ramming this through because of democrats sitting in districts that should be Republican. And they are on the verge of a whole lot of other bad things because of the spine-less Republicans in the Senate. Cao is a complete and utter irrelevancy. Either way, he is toast, so none of this really matters.

November will be a bloodbath for the dems: everywhere except areas like this. It will also be a bloodbath for establishment Republicans. I am much more concerned about getting solid conservatives into the Illinois and Delaware races.

More honest means you likely get 100% or 90%+. More honest means that likely all of your views are challenged. More honest means the conservative branding gains ZERO traction. More honest means it could be that one vote that could determine the speakership.

Cao(or guys like Cao) is not an irrelevancy . My hope is that the Republicans will build a huge majority with guys like Cao in Democrap voting areas (like what happened yesterday) and ram through potentially unpopular legislation to roll back the welfare state. That is my hope.

A person would have to be hopelessly idealistic to think there wouldnt be intense resistance to that. We need people like Cao willing to bite the bullet, to make it happen , IMO.

A very liberal Rino like Cao is a problem for our Party, for he would misrepresent our unity and common values. Cao is liberal on economic as well as social issues. Why I should vote for him? Only because I can see an “R” on the ballot? I do not buy it.

I agree with everything you just said. What I take objection to is your statement that my “attitude” is somehow responsible for this health care takeover. My attitude is that we have a chance of pulling people like Cao over to our side on key votes (not 100% chance, but not 0% either), whereas with, say, a Maxine Waters, we have none (to say the least).

Woops, I misread your second sentence and confused you with someone else on the thread, mea culpa! The positives do outweigh the negatives, even though he's only going to be with us for 2 years.

No problem. I still haven’t finished my first pot of coffee, so I’m still a little edgy.
