'It is to me a new and consolatory proof that wherever the people are well-informed they can be trusted with their own government; that whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights."
Thomas Jefferson to Richard Price, January 8, 1789.
Two hundred and twenty-one years later, the sage of Monticello has been proven right again. Aroused and well-informed by a year of watching a liberal majority go very far wrong, Massachusetts voters handed a Senate seat held by Ted Kennedy for 47 years to Republican Scott Brown, a little known state senator from Wrenthem.

My new tag line. Thanks Tom.
We can rejoice and celebrate another victory for the American movement started with the Tea Party protests. But, we cannot rest until we have not only removed these tyrants from power in our government, legal system, education, and bureaucracies.
We must also remove the “special status” of unions and other liberal groups who are given power protected by government to the exclusion of other Americans. Make them all compete with the rest of us!!!
A challenge far greater than the Massachusetts Miracle.
Many predicted that Obama would try to sell the story that Coakley was a female Creigh Deeds. "It's all her fault." However, notice that just about the time Reid was buying votes, the Coakley campaign started to fall apart.
re: Its gonna get very very VERY ugly.
Yes, it is. And that’s exactly what liberals count on to help them carry the day. They are like the two-year-old in the candy aisle who plans on making such a scene that mom will give in and buy the candy bar, just to avoid the embarrassment.
It’s important to remember, that the uglier they try to make it the more we know they feel they are losing. We need to learn to take their rising level of ugliness as a measure of our growing level of success.
Wow!
EXACTLY!
Coakley was a pretty clueless candidate though. Coakley jokes:
Coakley believes Larry Bird is a Sesame Street character.
Coakley went into Cheers and didnt know anybodys name.
I mean . . .
—famine
—civil war
—WWIII
—martial law
—massive deaths
—massive incarcerations
—etc
. . . ugly
Hah !! Excellent
Hah !! Excellent
I was thinking this a.m., Massachusetts voters should be as proud as Minnesota voters should be ASHAMED.
BTTT
Wasn't the Raven always rather succinct?
"Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore"..."
How about "Nevermore 60 vote majority for Dems"?
